Could be. And when they make a lightweight revolver suitable for pocket carry they will become a consideration. I like and respect the SP101, but lightweight it is not.
Saw a Ruger GP100 4" Blue with fixed sights in a shop. Is this something new from Ruger? I have never seen a GP100 with fixed sights except in the three inch. This was particularly tempting.

Our shop send 5-6 revolvers a month back to Taurus for various problems. Most troublesome are those that I would consider "high-performance", such as the light weight guns, the super hard recoil guns and the new designs. They tend to fare better in the very basic designs such as plain jane...

Is it just a lengthened .32 Magnum, or is it actually a different sized projectile?

Maybe Ruger will be introducing a new "lightweight defensive revolver" to go with it? I like the SP-101, but by comparison with others in it's class it is hardly lightweight.
I have an opportunity to pick up a Walther P99 in .40 for about $375. Gun is in great shape and is a pre-S&W gun. It has Carl Walther LLC listed as importer on the slide. Slide has German import marks at rear on side, and it has two ten round mags. Still has German test target in the box...
