If you might be interested in an entry level 1911, check out the Rock Island Armory compact. I bought the full size model a couple of months ago and after 500 rounds through it, not a single problem and it's a dream to shoot.
Edit to add that I didn't type fast enough. :)
I had an SP101 in 357 that my lady stole after I made the mistake of letting her shoot it. I picked up a Taurus PT709 (Slim) 9mm a couple of months ago thinking should would prefer the Taurus over the heavier Ruger but I wound up keeping it as my pocket gun. Point is that I like and trust both...
Safe threads seem to wander all over the globe. I found the best price around my area for the Cannon 21 gun safe to be at the Tractor Supply Company surprisingly.
SP - I bought the Cannon 21 gun safe several months ago from Tractor Supply and IIRC it was right around $650. Bring a couple of friends to get it set up.
I went on an XD binge this year and wound up with sub compacts in 40 & 45 and finally a full size 45 that are a pleasure to use but the most satisfying is the S&W 617 22lr.
There have been several posts that indicate they would have expected the woman to try and warn him off which I don't understand. If I was sitting in the dark with a crazy man yelling and beating on my door and he hasn't managed to get in yet, I'm not going to make it known that there is anyone...
My favorite dealer has a gun shop inside a Suziki motorcycle shop that charges a $25 FFL fee. All he askes his customers is to give him a chance to beat the deal we get online by the time you figure out the combined purchase/FFL fees and after several purchases, every one has been cheaper...
I don't even bother with the printed copy any more since all the WMA's are different. I just load the pdf version from the DNR site and do a fast search. All the WMA season info are on a couple of pages for each zone.
You probably have it but here's the link in case you don't...
I just passed 59 and had to go 100% scopes on all rifles. I can still get by with no glasses or weak glasses for handgun but I'm only looking at hitting center mass and not a 1" grouping.
For those that have a Sports Authority around, they have full shelves here in Charleston and currently are having a 10% discount on centerfire cartridges. I picked up a couple box of 30 06 Remington Core Lokt discounted to $17.49 plus tax even though their sale sign said Winchester ammo was on...
I just received an email that I have a backorder from Cabela's just ship and looking at the site, there are primers available . I only looked at Winchester but there weren't any sold out icons yet.
I was getting .308 at Walmart for $12.74 and made the mistake of asking the young lady one time too many if they were marked correctly and they changed them to $21.75. :o
