One of my red dot sights has given up the ghost, so that has set a rotation in motion at my place. I'm left with finding a new red dot for my Stainless Ruger Mark III .22 Hunter. Obviously, there is no shortage of options. But, it's been a little while since I've gone red dot shopping. I thought...
This is not a good trend...

I've run some .45 acp reloads on my Dillon RL550B, and I'm hoping someone has a solution for me. This is a 4-stage press. The first stage decaps and resizes the casing. After stage #1, the casings slide easily into my cartridge gauge. After stage 3 (seat bullet), and stage 4 (crimp), the...
I closed a FTF deal today for a CZ 75B with the polished stainless finish. This pistol has never been fired, and I am impressed with it's quality...anxious to get it out on the range. Just two observations have me scratching my head. The 3-dot white sights are downright dingy in color. I took it...
A local contractor dropped off his Double-Nine .22 Revolver with me today. It's over 50 years old, and looks every day of that. But, it looks like it can be cleaned up & made functional. All it lacks is the front sight, which appears to be a pressed-in type of sight. Anyone know where I can find...
OK magazine detectives...My buddy cleaned out his man cave & brought this .380 magazine over to my man cave (great strategy on his part). Anyway, anyone have a clue what this mag fits? It's 3 inches tall by 1 inch...no markings anywhere on it...
We just never tire of sharing the latest best gun lube we've tried, right? Well, my cousin sent me a spray can of one I had never tried before (or even heard of). It's called AMSOIL MP...
AMSOIL MP Metal Protector
So, I gave it a go. I would compare it to Remoil, but it is different. It...
I was excited several weeks ago when I found a new GP-100 Wiley Clapp Edition for sale from Impact Guns, an online firearms dealer in Utah. That excitement faded quickly when I received the revolver from my local FFL dealer. I decided to accept it, despite a long list of cosmetic flaws and some...
After living in the Mini-14/Mini-30 world for some time, I decided an AR would be a nice addition to my collection. I prowled around a bit, and landed on the Sig 556 SWAT as the one that suited me best. It's only been out to the range once, but the first 160 rounds went through it without a...
I believe this red dot sight from Weaver is pretty new on the market. At least, I wasn't aware of it until recently. Anyone have any experience with it? Thoughts? Weaver Red Dot Sight M#849250...

I picked up a used Ruger P90 .45 Pistol with only one small problem...The firing pin block plunger was broken in two pieces. This is not a difficult or expensive repair, although the rear sight must be removed so the part can be accessed from the top of the slide.
So...Now I have my parts...
I'm allowing myself just one modification to my new SR1911...Since these are manufactured here in Prescott, they really do need a more local flare...
Actually, even though the grips are genuine diamondback rattler, I had to find them in Michigan! ...at Dog Grips... www.doggrips.com
I thought my 196-series Mini-14 was all set up the way I wanted it, but my buddy, Charley, in Alabama said it needed one of his Genuine Leather Dangly Things to hang off of the Mo-Rod...
Well, my buddy & I took our new product, the "Grim Reaper" front sight/muzzle brake out for a test this week. This prototype for the Mini-14 was machined out of a solid block of high quality aluminum. It surpassed our expectations. As you can see from the pics below, it's a sturdy accessory...
I took my new (used) Ruger Alaskan out for the first time this morning. I fired Magtech 260 grain .454 for the first 12 shots. I'll say this for the Alaskan...If one isn't wide awake and well positioned for these .454 rounds, it only takes one shot to do the trick. Boomers, to say the least! At...
I have a fellow wanting to sell me his Ruger Alaskan .454 because it hurt his hand. He said .45 Long Colt can be fired through this revolver. I hate to be ignorant, but is this true? I haven't been in the revolver world in recent years...
I can understand why manufacturers equip their new 1911 pistols with an ambidextrous thumb safety, as they don't wish to limit their market to only right-handed or left-handed shooters. But, why would I, as a right-handed person, go to the trouble of retrofitting my 1911 with an ambi safety...
