A pawn shop in town has one of these for sale. $500 for it, in .45 Colt, with after market "New Orleans pimp" pearl grips and a 4 5/8 inch barrel.
I can't find much on these, except they were made in the 60's? (According to a page on Gunblast.)
Anyway, is $500 a reasonable amount for it...
As of late, I've had the itch for a single action .357 sporting a 7.5 inch barrel.
Looking over Uberti's stuff, they've got a couple brass framed models cheaper than their steel models.
Now, I've got a brass framed blackpowder pistol, so I know that brass tends to get messed up shooting full...
For a reasonable price? I'd prefer an actual factory Browning/FN slide.
How hard is it to fit yourself, or should I send them to a gunsmith to work over?
For the curious;
I bought a .40 Hi Power, intending to convert it to 9mm, because the shop owner told me that 9mm Hi Powers would come apart...
I wouldn't count on receiving spare parts from the government.
You ask for it, they're likely to disarm you at gunpoint.
You try to steal it, they'll shoot you.
Perhaps I'm just bitter, but I just can't see the government changing overnight from hostile to armed citizens, to handing out...
I know you're looking for sub-machine guns, but have you considered the Mosin Nagant?
I'll be willing to bet you could get them at the same price as American importers.
As far as sub-machine guns, I think it would be adequate. If a small nation is invaded, it's only "real" solution is to...
I've had the chance recently to acquire a Mauser action converted to a .308 "hunting rifle."
I've always wanted to make a semi-custom hunting rifle, do you guys think that'd be a good place to start? I'd rather start with something that's been messed with already than ruin the history myself...
I'd get a Garand.
I believe Springfield makes a .308 Tanker.
My reasoning being that if you can only have up to 10 rounds, you might as well get a fast reload.
Will they be fine with standard .308?
I reload for my FAL and 10FP using .308 brass, I don't push it very hard but its probably slightly hotter than Spanish 7.62x51.
I like the .308 Winchester.
Of course, a .30-30 isn't a bad suggestion either.
You could go for an AK or SKS, if you would like a semi-auto that is similar to the .30-30 in power.
I've seen kits to build these for fairly cheap on the internet, and I've been looking at 9mm carbines. These actually don't look that bad with a 16 inch barrel.
I know a Beretta carbine would be more practical, but I'm looking for something more fun. I've got it down between one of these and...
An AK's cleaning rod works famously for this purpose. If you can guide it in with that, push REALLY hard, and get the threads started, it's cake from there.
I used a small screwdriver in the groove in the side to help get it started.
I've pretty much decided on one of the Aimpoint 9000 series, probably the 9000L.
Any suggestions for a better suited optic?
I intend to put this on my FAL with a DSA mount.
Does anyone have any suggestions as far as mounts? Is there one low enough that I could cowitness? How about one...
I was at the pawn shop recently, they've got one of these for 250 bucks.
I believe it's an original, it's in pretty rough shape though, the finish seems worn and the grips are missing a chip, and are very dark.
So, I ask you guys, what should I look at on this pistol?
Also, how strong are...
