My Pedersoli Hawken has developed a crack in the toe of the stock. I would like to fix it myself, but am unsure as to what would be the best method: glue and clamp, glue with wood peg for strength, or perhaps glue with brass screw for strength. Any of you guys repaired something like this? How...
Has anyone tried one of these on a Hawken style muzzleloader? I have a Pedersoli Rocky Mt hawken, .54, percussion. The old eyes need a little help, was wondering how it might work out. Thanks in advance!
drew a cow elk tag this year in Idaho and am wondering about using my .54 Hawken. It has a slow twist, like one turn in 66inches, and is designed to shoot patched round balls, which I do. My question is this : should I work up a good hunting load for patched balls, or perhaps try shooting some...
Would like to upgrade the grips on my CZ75, but frankly am a little confused by the plethora of materials available. What have you guys out there found that works?
A while back I asked for some help select th ing a new sidearm, and l I listened care fully. After looking at a lot, shooting some, I bought a CZ 75 B. The plastic framed striker fired guns just did not feel or shoot up to my expectations. One m o re question though: some thoughts on aftermarket...

I am set to take a knife making class using the stock removal method, starting with a blank of tool steel. Without tempering, will this blade have enough hardness to hold a good edge?
Because of reoccurring rust issues, I am trying bore cleaner to flush and clean my .54 Hawken. When I use soap and water, no matter how clean I get the bore, I pull rust and gunk out of the bore, for days after. My question is: any ideas on a recipe for homemade bore cleaner?
Does looking through the aperture of a receiver sight, such as a Creedmore, actually improve your vision? I was shocked at how clear my vision was when I tried a friend's rifle.
Cleaning my 54 Hawkins today, and I noticed, as in past, that with a moderate charge, 60 grains, that most of the fouling occurs in the first ten inches or so of t he barrel. Increasing load to 80 grains fouls t he completed we tell length of barrel, 35 inches. My question is, does barrel...
Just an observation heard many times here. Made the switch from 777 to old eynsford, and from my observation, it is similar to the Swiss powder I use in my .54. It burns fast, and hot, leaves less ash. I am a believer!
Ok guys,, I need some info. I have gotten my Pietta .44 shooting good groups, but six inches high at 25yards. All the adjustment is out of the sights. The front sight is fairly high, but I suppose o see it could be replaced with an even taller one. Did they use a different sight picture back in...
