10 or 15 years ago this argument would have been different. With the AWB in '94, all the hi-cap 9mms were obsolete, as their capacities were cut by 1/3. With the advent of the .40, they were viable options again. The big wonder-nines could be had in .40 with almost full capacity magazines...
Just wait. I don't have a choice. I get issued a Glock 22 whether I like it or not. I bought a G27 to supplement it for off duty and back up. I really don't care much for the .40 either.
The new generation LCP has a half cock, so the pull is a lot shorter. My wife carries a TCP, and I have an LCP. LCP is better fit and finish, but the TCP still has a better trigger. I don't like all the angles and edges on the TCP.
My wife and I carry our 380s with FMJ. With the lower powered caliber, I'd rather have the penetration. I know a few guys who've been in gunfights, and unlike paper targets, real targets usually try and hide behind things.
With the boat load of aftermarket companies out there, I can't for the life of me understand why no one has come up with some sort of extended safety lever for it. I carry mine either with the safety on, or with the safety off and the hammer back at the half cock notch thing. When the hammer...
I've owned a few Glocks and was never a great shot with them, but I can shoot the hell out of most anything else. Glocks just felt odd in my hand, and I've never been particularly fond of them due to that. The most recent glock I bought I decided to do what I haven't ever done before; I cut...
My wife started on a Beretta, then got a small 9mm. She thought she would carry it in her purse, but now having done so, she prefers to carry on her person. Because women are very different, she's settled on a little pocket 380. Faliaphotography has a YouTube channel and a blog. She has a ton of...
The last 40 I owned was in 1998. It really lost its appeal when the AWB expired and you could carry full capacity 9s again. I'm pretty much a 9 and 45 person now, but huge majority of 9s.
Yeah, who cares what anyone else thinks. I have a 9422 from the 70s, but I wanted a 94 30-30 trapper. I figured I'd pick one up new when I saw it on the rack, but that day never happened. Right after the plant announced the closing, I scourged the internet and gun stores, and found exactly...
I'm going to let my license expire at the beginning of next year. I've had it over a decade, but the weapons being sold now are nothing compared to what was available 7-8 years ago. A war time M44 with all matching parts for $50 is a thing of the past.
I think the D.O. will stick, but it would be interesting to see the appeals court give some sort of an opinion on it. In Texas v. Johnson, symbolic free speech can be applied in cases where the activity is against the law, but carried out under the first amendment.
My dealer reviews the form, because the last time I filled one out, I messed up a question and had to do it all over again. He said he messed one up once and they just told him not to do it again. I would imagine if it's habitual for a dealer to turn in faulty paperwork, they'd lose their...
Police have more of a necessity to be a little more offensive than a regular Joe. You just want enough to get away.
I carried a J-frame as an on duty backup and an off duty carry for years. With a speed loader, you can reload almost as fast as a semi auto can. I qualified with my J-frame...
It's ridiculous to see the amount of parts you can build one with. My problem is I started building one, and my wife took an interest. What was supposed to be a heavy barrel full length rifle is now a lightweight carbine with pink furniture. I just ordered another receiver so I can build the...
We have two pink Crickett .22s for my two older girls. My youngest daughter is about to get her rifle, and it's going to be a pink crickett .22. My middle daughter wants a pink chipmunk pistol. My wife has pink grips on her carry gun and is trying to piece together an AR with pink...
I've carried a 96 and a 92 as duty guns. I still have the 92. It is stupid accurate, and I've never seen a single jam out of either. It gets a bad rap sometimes because idiots use them. I saw a teletype warning about a 'problem with the Beretta 92 series' once. Some screwball motor jock went to...
Moral of the story: good people with guns stop bad people with guns. Good people without guns die by the truckload to bad people with guns, until good people with guns finally show up.
It's a nice rifle to have. I bought mine for $49. It's a 1945 war time gun with all numbers matching. I almost sold it once, but I think I will hang onto it. Never know when I'll need a flame thrower.
