    New Glock 30!!

Folks, this is one nice shootin' reliable and accurate firearm. No two ways about it. I shot 150 230gr FMJ from CCI, UMC and Win along with 50 UMC JHP 230gr with not one (or any) malfunction of any sort whatsoever. The polymer frame really soaks up the recoil of the heavy rounds as well...

    Glock w/reloads?

All this talk of KBs and whatnot with Glocks raises a question for me as a longtime reloader. Since I've ALWAYS crafted quality handgun reloads in 4 different calibers and have (knocking on wood!) never had any mishaps or damage to me or any of my firearms with malfunctioning/exploding ammo...

1911Tuner: got a question for ya.

My SA G.I. wont feed the Remington 230 GR JHPs reliably, a few get through but then I start getting regular failures to go into battery. Still fires the factory 230gr jacketed ball ammo from every manufacturer I've tried (WOlf, Rem, CCI, and Winchester) 100% but I still have some problems with...

    Redding powder measures, which one?

Hi everyone, I've pretty much decided to get a Redding powder measure to compliment my old Ideal no. 55 and I'm most interested in either the Model 3BR with pistol and universal metering chambers or the Model 3 also with both chambers. Can anyone give me any preferences between the two and why...

    Swap my SA G.I. ??

Boy oh boy, with all this bad info coming down the pike about MIM small parts failures I'm 'bout to dump an otherwise nice G.I. Springer fer something else! Seriously, I aint no smith and I'm not looking forward to paying one $$$ to have the work done so, I've narrowed it down to 2 possible...

    Latest SA G.I. update.

I've had a chance to run about 700 rds through my G.I. so far and in the process I picked up a couple of spare mags, a new Kimber and a used stainless Colt. The Colt wouldn't feed the 7th round until I replaced the spring with a new Wolff spring and it's still not a reliable mag for some reason...

    Second G.I. Springfield range report

Let me first state to 1911Tuner that his magic slurry treatment works exactly as described by him and others that have tried it. Last Sunday I whipped up a batch and was drizzling it all over my .45 8 hours later. I applied it, cycled the slide 130 times with the spring and bushing...

    Good 1911 mags

I'm looking for extra mags for my new GI Springfield and I would like to know the consensus on Chip McCormacks, Meggars or even the Springfields as I have a coupon to get up to 10 of them for $9 apiece. If there's any other mags to recommend let me know about them as well. Thanks in advance!

    My new G.I. 45

Took my new Springield GI to the range today along with a box of Blazer Brass 230gr ball, a box of UMC 230gr ball, a box of my reloads- 200gr lswc over 5.0 gr W231 and a handful of Fiocci 230gr ball rounds. For a warmup I slow fired half of the box of UMC without a hitch and then I started in...

    Investment casting on 1911s

Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum and my name is Rick. I have a question about the GI 45 from Springfield. Is the frame and slide investment cast? Also, what differences in slide and frame materials are there between it and Sprinfields Mil Spec and Colts 1991A1 if any? I was just wondering...
