Actually, there's a lot of trees in Nebraska. Pine Ridge Area, Much of Northern and Southern NE has good treed areas. Heck, Nebraska City is the HQ for the Arbor Day Foundation !! However, I must admit where I live in South Central NE, trees are not as common 'cause it's corn country !! :)...

I'm going out for rabbits, squirrels and pheasants this afternoon when the snow lets up. Late season hunting is my favorite by far...but this cold is brrrrrrrrrr!

In Nebraska most and best hunting opportunites are on private lands by permission or lease. However, public lands offer plenty good opportunity if you get a way from the higher populated areas. I hunt both....at any given time.

I wear scent blocker stuff , because I stink ! Anything I can do keep that stink in check !! :)

Omaha/Lincoln area public lands should all hold some rabbits. Shouldn't have to travel too far. It may take a couple scouting trips to find a spot. Tree strips, brush piles, plum thickets and shelter belts are good bets. After a snow , on the next sunny day, check for rabbit activity by looking...
