22LR companion gun for main carry gun?

I have three 9mm CZ 75's and a CZ Kadet (.22). The Kadet is the same size and weight as the CZ 9mm's, so it's a perfect training tool.

Sig Sauer. Is it worth the $$

CZ's have better triggers and better ergonomics for hundreds of dollars less. I just don't get the Sig attraction.

Is there a difference S&W M&P or just a smith auto

Smith's M&P and 1911's are their best centerfire autos, except perhaps for some PC models and the 945/952 series. All the DA types had terrible triggers, which is why I've never met a shooter in my area who has one.

What do you know about this gun?

Terrible reputation, from lots of users who have posted on the Net. But if you've been lucky with a Jennings, you were born under the right sign and may find a Llama that works. There are many, many better used guns at $375.

.44mag, .44spl or .44spl+P ammo for home defense?

The .44 Mag has almost no self-defense value in home defense situations, unless you expect bears or Martians. Recoil makes follow-up shots difficult, and the noise level could permanently damage hearing for everybody in the house. Since the best .44 Special rounds essentially duplicate .45 ACP...

    Opinion wanted on gun magazine

The only gun magazine I'd get, if I could get just one. Honest, critical, tests a broad array of guns. They've been doing it a long time, so they know what they're doing.

    CZ-75B vs CZ-75 P01

One of the chief virtues of the CZ line is cocked and locked capability. Without that, the P-01 doesn't make the cut. Its only asset over the 75B Compact is lighter weight. The extended dust cover makes it incompatible with holsters for other CZs, and the faddish light rail is useless to me...

Tell me about the S&W Model 67

Most were square butts; late 67-3 and all 67-4 seem to have been round. Lock not added until 67-5. Prices have soared on these, so $449 seems pretty good.

Remove black fouling from handle of stainless CZ75

Full size CZ 75B's have been available in stainless for two or three years.

    The CZ Club

Bear2000: The slide stops on all seven of my CZ's are hard to remove, although some have loosened a bit with time. I tap them out with the butt of a plastic screwdriver, and a couple now will go with thumb pressure applied to a wadded cloth or piece of leather. The Rami's the stiffest of the...

    A Sudden Fascination with Derringers

Fight the urge. Virtually anything, including a rock or stick, is more accurate than a derringer. Every one I've shot avoided paper at 15 feet. Use a decent small revolver instead. I've killed many a copperhead and was never tempted to use a gun, since ricochets at snake distances could be...

Recoil of PCR vs. CZ 75?

Armoredman: If they make one, I'll be first in line. But I hope they skip the stupid light rail fad.

    CZ 2075 RAMI 9mm

I've tried damned near every compact revolver and semi for concealed carry, and the 9 mm Rami alloy frame works best for me. It's a little chunky, but thinner guns don't fit my hand well, and the cocked and locked trigger is a major benefit. I use a wonderful HBE IWB holster, but I don't...

Recoil of PCR vs. CZ 75?

I couldn't tell much difference in mine - and because the PCR feels so good in the hand, it left the impression of maybe recoiling less. However, since cocked and locked capability is one of the major benefits offered by CZ, I got rid of the PCR. CZ should make the PCR in an SA version.

Opinion On The Kahr CW Series

From the perspective of concealability and comfort, my CW9 was unbeatable (the smaller Kahrs are too tiny to manipulate well). The trigger was better than the DA on any S&W J frame, but still not as easy to shoot well as the SA on my CZ Rami. While the Rami's heavier and fatter, its trigger made...

    Cz 2075

Juna gets it all right. I'd only add that the alloy version has become my favorite carry gun.

Shot an HK P7, very accurate, but ...

Terrific sights, trigger, reliability, and one of the most accurate handguns on the planet. But I didn't like the squeeze cocker manual of arms, so I dumped mine. If you stick with one, it'll probably become your favorite design. I just didn't want to detune myself from my CZ's.

    New CZ-75 owner

The 75 pre-B doesn't have a firing pin block and thus may have a slightly crisper trigger. Otherwise, they're pretty much the same as the 75B. I never liked any semi-auto for long - and I tried most of them - until I got into CZ's. They're handsome, very accurate, reliable, and relatively...

CZ 9mms and Blazer (aluminum) Ammo: Problems?

My six CZ 75's eat everything without a problem - EXCEPT for Blazer aluminum cases.

    M&P compact vs Kahr CW9

The CW9 is much thinner - maybe the most comfortable IWB/pocket piece that's not a mini-gun. BUT the M&P has a better trigger. For me, the shootability of an excellent trigger outweighs size considerations. After owning lots of J frames and a CW9 and handling an M&P Compact, I've settled on a...
