    Entry level 1911 Which one?

I own a Taurus PT1911 in SS and it is very accurate and reliable. I thought I was having extractor issues so I sent it back and they replaced the extractor without questions. It has a lifetime repair warranty and after a good clean and lube it runs great and eats anything I feed it. I know...

    New to 1911 question

I have a new (since christmas) taurus 1911 and she initially had a bad extractor, but I took her to the range and put 100 rounds through her with no problems. I start to clean it and noticed some fine brass metal shavings on the top-left part of each of the two magazines I used. is that normal?

How ok is it to NOT clean my Glock?

Personally, I like fish so I'd save it for the frying pan, but I agree. What's the point of NOT cleaning something-anything that gets dirty with use? I have a car, boat, house, car, body, mind. All get cleaned when they get dirty. Simple.

    Question about Ruger LCP

Ok, now you've done it! I've been stuck in the house here in DFW because of this nutty freeze and all I'll be able to do is stare at my peashooter trying to figure this out. Thanks!!! There's one on the right side too.

For the guys who carry full size steel guns

Very true statement. I'm not a big guy-6' 190lbs and a 1911 is very easy to carry. Beltman belt, and a Lonewolf holster, and I forget it's back there.

    .380 carry piece

I also have an lcp and it is very reliable. Shot lots of different fmj and jhp with no problems.

    Some say a .380 isn;t enough

Mayo, Since you obviously are an expert on what fits every persons personal defense needs, would you care to investigate the relative size of a 9mm that has the same dimensions as my lcp (since it DOES fit in my pocket well). If you would share with me the make and model, I'll check into buying...

    Reliable and Inexpensive .45

Love my Taurus pt1911.....SS was 650, but the blued is closer to 600. Shoots very straight (as far as I can tell) :)

    Some say a .380 isn;t enough

I'm not sure where the argument is; if I'm wearing light shorts and a t-shirt to go jogging, fishing etc. it's impractical to pack a ss 1911, and since .45 of even the 3" variety don't fit in a pocket so you go with what caliber will fit the situation. Will a .45 make a bigger hole then a...

    Some say a .380 isn;t enough

When it's 100 degrees in Texas, concealing my lcp is much easier then my pt1911! And as some have said, having any pistol with you all the time is better then carrying some of the time! Ya'll are much more thoughtful about this stuff, but in the winter I feel a .45acp will do the job...

    Taurus 1911 ?

I got one for Christmas and it had bad ejection jams, so I sent it off. 2 weeks later got it back and it shoots great. It doesn't like Remington 'on sale' stuff, (one jam per hundred) but shoots everything else just fine. I am by no means a pro, and this gun makes me look real good at the...
