I own a Taurus PT1911 in SS and it is very accurate and reliable. I thought I was having extractor issues so I sent it back and they replaced the extractor without questions. It has a lifetime repair warranty and after a good clean and lube it runs great and eats anything I feed it. I know...
I have a new (since christmas) taurus 1911 and she initially had a bad extractor, but I took her to the range and put 100 rounds through her with no problems. I start to clean it and noticed some fine brass metal shavings on the top-left part of each of the two magazines I used. is that normal?
Personally, I like fish so I'd save it for the frying pan, but I agree. What's the point of NOT cleaning something-anything that gets dirty with use? I have a car, boat, house, car, body, mind. All get cleaned when they get dirty. Simple.

I'm not sure where the argument is; if I'm wearing light shorts and a t-shirt to go jogging, fishing etc. it's impractical to pack a ss 1911, and since .45 of even the 3" variety don't fit in a pocket so you go with what caliber will fit the situation.
Will a .45 make a bigger hole then a...

Ya'll are much more thoughtful about this stuff, but in the winter I feel a .45acp will do the job...
I got one for Christmas and it had bad ejection jams, so I sent it off. 2 weeks later got it back and it shoots great. It doesn't like Remington 'on sale' stuff, (one jam per hundred) but shoots everything else just fine.
I am by no means a pro, and this gun makes me look real good at the...
