    New Hampshire FFL for transfers

Hi guys, I hope I'm posting in the right area. Does anyone know of a good FFL in southern NH willing to perform transfers. I'm trying to purchase a firearm from CDNN and my regular gunstore refuses to do business with them. Thanks in advance.

Ruger Old Model Blackhawk Triger Spring Plunger Question

Hi, I just got an OM Blackhawk .357 that I'd like to use for a .44 Special conversion. While I thought I went over it pretty well, I just noticed now that the trigger spring plunger at the rear of the trigger guard behind the trigger is crooked. It seems to work fine, but is canted somewhat...

    Gunsafe floor attachment methods?

Hi Guys, I've read posts in the past about bolting safes to the floor. I would like to bolt my safe down to my concrete basement floor with 3/8" x 2 1/4" Red Head concrete sleeved anchor bolts. I plan on drilling the 3/8" holes about 2 1/2" deep so if I move, I can hammer the bolts flush...

Smith & Wesson Model 13-3 Price Check?

Hi Guys, What's the going price for a Model 13-3 in 98-99% condition? Is $325 a fair price? Thanks

FN 5.7 incompatible with teflon based lubricants?

Hi Guys, The instruction manual to my new FN USG 5.7 specifically warns, "Never use hydrocarbons, trichloroethylene, ammonia, nor teflon-based lubricants: they could cause damage to your pistol!" I assume this is referring to possible damage to the plastic components from these chemicals...

    S&W 342PD malfunction

Hi Guys, I went to the range yesterday to try out my 342PD. I've had it a few months but never got the chance to shoot it. Started with some standard velocity 130gr PMC loads. The recoil was a little sharp compared to my Airweight 642. After firing a cylinder without problems, I...

    S&W Model 65 3in non-Ladysmith?

Hi Guys, Is that correct that S&W is discontinuing their K frames? If so, I've always wanted a M65 3 inch heavy barrel. I just checked their website and they only have a 3 inch Ladysmith. Do they make a 3 inch without the Ladysmith markings? Thanks

Ruger Security Six recoil shield question

Hi Guys, I'm thinking of getting a nice, stainless 2 3/4" Security Six. In looking at various pix on the net, I've noticed that the right side (not the side with the cylinder release) recoil shield is scalloped on some, and left in a half domed shape on others. Has anyone else noticed...

Help, I just moved to NH...

...and I need to know the firearms laws. I was told by the clerk at Wallmart that you have to be a resident of NH for at least 6 months before you can purchase a handgun. Does anyone know if this is true? Are there any exceptions? I just moved up from MA. I have a MA class A LTC and a FL...

    FN SLP Police Autoloader Shotgun

Hi Guys, I've seen some magazine articles and advertisements for the 12ga. FN SLP Police Autoloader shotgun. I believe it's very similar to the Winchester Super X. In fact, I believe FN makes the Super X for Winchester. Anyway, despite the ads and magazine articles, I have never seen one...

    Rust on Vaquero case coloring

Well, it's finally happened. While going through my gunsafe, I noticed several large rust spots all over the side of the simulated, case-hardened colored frame of my Ruger birdshead Vaquero. Oddly enough, the rest of the blued parts of the pistol were ok. Rust was only on the case colored...

    Aarrgghh...RUST!!!

Well, after many years, it's finally happened. I found rust on one of my pistols. It was stored well oiled with Break Free in a nylon padded pistol rug. I guess there was enough moisture in the case to allow rust. My safe is in a bedroom closet, and I've taken to using an air humidifier in...

    M1 Carbine gas piston

Hi Guys, I just got a new IAI M1 carbine and I'm having trouble already. It seems accurate for a carbine but I had several stovepipes with various 15 round GI mags. I think the problem is that my piston is stuck. I would like to remove it with a piston nut wrench but it is staked in place...

    Marlin 1895 Ltd-V

Hi Guys, Anyone know what a fair price for one of these is? I believe they were a limited run of 1000 by Davidsons. I have a chance to get one but the price of $680 seems kind of steep, especially since the Guide guns are going for about $450 around here. Also, the trigger seems pretty...

Pocket Carry: strong vs. weak side

Hi Guys, For those of you who pocket carry regularly, do you carry in your strong or weak side pocket? Does it matter if it's your primary vs. your back up? I don't carry often, but it's usually on a strong side hip holster. For times when I need deeper concealment, I'm considering...

    Glock 36 recoil

Hi Guys, I don't think I'm particularly recoil sensitive, but today, I shot a Glock 36 for the first time with Blazer 230 fmj's, and after a few magazines, my hand was stinging. The recoil impulse seems quite sharp to me. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a function of the very light...

slide rail lubrication: oil vs. grease

Hi Guys, What does everyone use to lubricate their auto slide rails? I usually use Break Free that I use for the rest of the pistol. Lately, I've been using RIG +p grease on the rails because it seems to stick there better.
