Please Tell Me About Ohio (Columbus area)

Byron, It's not that cold here; I've spent a lot of time in Atlanta, and the difference is usually about 10 degrees at most; this winter, we've only had one snow storm, and that was even before winter started. The preemption is being looked at by the state gov, I think, and the laws like...

Please Tell Me About Ohio (Columbus area)

Madison county is nice on the west side of Columbus; new houses going up, but not too many, and housing is reasonable from what I've heard. On the other side of Columbus, Granville is really great, and Deleware used to be nice north of town. As someone else said, London is also very nice, and...

    Help Picking a CCW!!!!

I hope you mean 'diversity' :) Those typos can have very different meanings! My personal thoughts are that I don't want to change my manual of arms for carry any more than I must. With the smartcarry, I've carried in everything I own, and I've never felt I needed a pocket gun. I have even...

    Help Picking a CCW!!!!

Well, as a disclaimer, I don't wear tight pants... my jeans are relaxed fit, and I wear chinos a lot. I know in jeans that sometimes I personally can tell, but that's it... Even my wife says she can't tell, and another friend that knows I carry was surprised when I told him I had it on me. So...

    Help Picking a CCW!!!!

I'm 6'3", 280, so not that much different... I carry a p99 AS.... I use a smartcarry... no one has noticed, as far as I know. I've also used a kydex iwb if I know I can cover it up. I didn't like the grip of the p99c, so I went with the full sized p99. I liked the ergonomics as well as the...

    Hot handgun loads

I've switched to 147 gr. Doubletap... tried it with 124 gr. and didn't like the feel of the 124... more snap to the round than the 147, and I got better groups with the 147... both seem very good, though... but I've definitely switched from what I'd been carrying... I didn't try the 115 gr, though.

    CCW Woes

That's why I'm not doing it. And thanks for the suggestions... I'd checked out packing.org, and I think PA doesn't have peacable journey laws. Partly, it's just almost odd to me how quickly one becomes accustomed to something.

    CCW Woes

I haven't posted much on here yet, but thought I would today. I'm going to PA this weekend, and I don't have my NH non-res license yet, so I can't carry there. I've only been legal to carry for 5 weeks, but have noticed how ingrained it's already become, to the point that I feel odd going to a...

    My P99

I got a 9mm with 15 round mags earlier this year, and the first couple of times, the last few were really hard to get in there, but they load fine now. And mine don't have any LE markings, either, as they were produced after the ban was lifted.

    Dilemma Decision

I tried both before deciding on the 9mm. Higher capacity mags, and it just felt better to me. I'm not small or weak, so it wasn't like I couldn't take some recoil, but the 9mm was just easier to handle. I don't know if the p99 was designed as a 9mm then upgraded to a .40, but it just felt...

    CCW a Glock 19, safety?

The trigger pull is part of what made me decide on a Walther P99 AS. I can carry with a round chambered and know that I've got to really try to pull the trigger before anything will happen. I've practiced with that first pull so that it's something I know to expect, and everything after takes...

Having a "Car Gun" when your spouse doesn't have a CCL...

My wife specifically got her license for the sole reason you mentioned... so that if I stepped out of the car, she's still legal. It also got her going on maybe wanting to shoot now and then.

    Guns and cats

I have cats, but, then, I don't really have cats. My wife has 2 cats... I've liked shotguns for a while,a nd the best dog to me for shotgun companionship is a lab... I have a 13 1/2 year old that would still love to go out with me. Though we're considering a maine coon cat, which is kind of a...

    I Love My Wife

My wife and I just to the Ohio CCW class together on April 16, and I was surprised she wanted to take it, but she said if I'm going to have a gun around, she wants to be a. safe with it, and b. legal if it's in the car and I'm not. Now, she's interested in getting a target gun, something like a...

    CCW at Nutter Center-Dayton OH?

But then, you didn't say that YOU graduated there! :) I actually drive by the Nutter Center every day going to work, which is right across the street from Wright State itself... I have to go onto base at Wright Patt pretty often, and I have to watch just about everywhere I carry... i don't...

    Horseshoe TJM Holster

I'm about to get my first holster, for a Walther P99, and I wondered if anyone has tried the TJM Deep Concealment holster from Horeshoe (web site ). I like the idea of the tuckability of it, along with the fact that it won't pull on a belt, or be visible along a belt, but I wondered about...

    CCW at Nutter Center-Dayton OH?

With that argument, then I guess there's no reason to ever ask a question about CCW being allowed. However, I'm pretty sure that was meant as an 'is it legal' type question.

    CCW at Nutter Center-Dayton OH?

the Nutter Center is part of Wright State University, so I would guess you can't carry in there.

    Is this a common assumption?

If you're asked this, have them read the old testament! And I'll ask my friend that's a pastor why he got his gun recently and keeps it on him whenever he can, while he lives in a town that has a huge drug issue and has had cars and property stolen several times... Or you could just ask the...
