Well I was getting ready to clean some brass and thought I would see if I could come up with a solution that cleaned well and was not hard on the brass. I use the Harbor Freight unit. I filled the unit up with water out of my reverse osmosis unit. Then I grabbed a hand full of Goop(maybe 3/4...
My daughter has decided that she likes to shoot a bit. She's right handed but left eye is her strongest. How can I teach her to sight in? I'm right handed, right eye so I don't know. I've got her sighting in with the rifles with glass on them with both eyes open but she can't figure it out with...
Just got my new AR15 up and running this weekend, and I'm looking for choices for pills. 7 twist 16", the gun only has two purposes, 1, paper at short range and 2, killing things at short ranges. I'm looking for a bullet for this gun that is effective at both and I can buy in volume. I will also...
I bought the latest Sierra loading manual and they forgot this bullet, so I wrote them an email asking for OAL. Today I received a reply of 2.660. Does that sound right to you guys? Seems short to me.
Is their data high? I've seen charges 2gr. plus on their site in comparison to say Sierra and Lyman's data. For example Sierra list max charge of 4064 on the .243 as 40.2 and Hogdon data center is listed as 42.5.
Hey, what do you guys think of these for general plinking and target practice, say up to about 600 yards? The gun is a Browning Bar hunting type, not military. 20" barrel and 1/12 twist.
I'm running 95gr SMK's and looking for a good powder for a reasonable price. I've tried RL-17, seemed to be a decent powder, I've tried H4350 and had good results with it as well. I've bought a new LNL powder dispenser so it will need to flow well with that dispenser. The H4350 bridges a lot so...
My wife, who has only shot my .40 and .45 a few times, decided it would be a good idea to have her own gun. So Saturday she gets her own XD 9. So, I've never loaded for a 9 and to be honest I haven't even shot one in 19 years. So, I'm going to grab some MBC lead for her for practice. What weight...
I've loaded about 150 rounds of .243. Nothing over max load. The primers are falling out, the rounds were never fired and still have powder in them. Basically, I chambered the round only to find the primer fell out. The brass is new never used Winchester. Seating all felt good, nothing loose...
OK, almost all of my crap first few batches are gone. I've got about 100 MB 180 gr TCFP left. So lets see if we can find a load this gun likes without a butt load of leading.
I have on hand Unique and SR4756, the gun likes 1.175 oal for feeding of this bullet. Can I get some starting loads...
Man, I've been struggling with lead fouling and the long clean up time removing the lead from my barrels. I don't know who in the world figured out the Chore Boy trick, but that is the fastest lead cleaning tool I've ever used.
Thank you all very much! Oh, and my wife thanks you for allowing...
I don't remember having this problem with my last batch, but this almost cartoonish. Have you ever watched a dummy try to carry a 2x4 through a door sideways, or a dog trying to bring a big bone through a doggie door sideways? Well that's whats happening with these loads. The nose of the bullet...
I'm having difficulty finding load data for 95gr matchking and 105 Amax. Does anyone have min and max load for these rounds? I even ran to bass pro last night and looked at all their reloading books and none of them had this powder listed.
I've been wearing contacts for a while and lately they've become a pain in the rear. Constantly drying up and loss of vision when out at the range. I'm considering going back to just plain ole glasses. Is there a particular design that works well while laying in prone? Seems the upper part of...
I've got the auto disk pro now, but I simply don't like it. The disk binds, and even at max capacity it doesn't throw enough powder for large calibers.
I'm sure a lot of people have made changes to their powder drop system. What I'm looking for is a different drop and a way to set it up...
Ok guy's, I know this has been asked before because I've read it here but I can't find it again to save my life.
I'm getting very light leading near the breach and no leading at all at the muzzle. What do I need to do to tweak my loads? Powder is clay's and the bullets are Missouri hardness 18.
As the title states, I'm looking for a powder for both 40 and 45 with both jacketed and lead.
Right now I'm running SR4756 for the 40. I have not started to load lead in the 45 acp yet but I'm running Clay's for the plated stuff. I get my bullets from Missouri and will probably use 180 TCFP...
For some reason I keep making mistakes when buying primers:banghead:
Ok I'm loading for 40 S&W. I've been buying my primers locally and I made the mistake of picking up Remington No. 1 1/2 instead of the No. 5 1/2(only 500 so not to much of a loss). Can I use these or should I find someone to...
The search feature is only giving me 6 results for Missouri. I know this has been answered but I simply can't find it.
Loading .40 and the 180 Grain TCFP Missouri bullet. I'm using SR5746 powder. Can someone recommend a good starting load?
