Not Scientific but my 351pd put one through a 4x4 and stuck in the board behind it.( cci solid) The 3" LCR has an easier trigger but i believe only 6 rounds.
I pratice only DA. I'm actually a better shot DA then SA.
If you practice DA you can get very good and its faster than SA.
Thats my novice opinion.
I have a Charter arms .44 special I bought on a wim. It doesn't compare to any of my smiths. I hate to bash it. I like the gun, but am afraid...
<what is S&W's service policy, do they generally charge for repairs?>
From my experience it will come back better than new and free.
I would keep it or sell it to me for cheap.:neener:
I don't feel guns are for everyone. I would recomomend a safety course and a quik access combination safe.
When someone first starts handling a gun they are very awkward. I would want to be past that point before having a gun around a family. And if its not on your body. in a safe
If...
<I love my 12 gauge "pistol". I just cannot understand why people try to shoot these things from anywhere but the hip. >
Even from the hip you have to hold onto them. I saw a guy smash his mouth from the hip. It was the barrel that hit his mouth and The gun landed next to him.

Clint...He should have armed himself if he was gonna decorate his saloon with my dead friend.
I've owned a Gardian in 32 and the seecamp.
Althogh the gardian is heavier it has some bite when fired.
I was amazed at how smooth the seecamp was.
Thats just me I'm used to and preferr light j frames.
I really don't wan't to sound like I'm roasting you. The back pack is a great Idea. IMO Its just better to keep your protection where you can get to it easily.
I have no problem mountain biking with a scandium j frame.
I carry in the front, inside the pants 2 oclock.. It has to be the...
I'm a diehard revolver guy. I've never had to carry a fire arm in the open, on a belt. If i did i would carry an auto. I think there is less chance of someone shooting you with your own gun. But thats me.
Besides whichever you decide. you said they will train you. Which ever you pick practice alot.
The way i see it, if you have it for protection, there are 2 choices. lock it in the safe or take it in the bathroom. Leaving it on a table while your in the shower is plain stupid. Of course there's the grey area of hiding it.
