    Thoughts on this?

When you first purchase a new BP firearm do you need to break it down and give it a good cleaning? I've noticed that they come somewhat lubed and packaged well. My purchase was a urberti 58 in .44cal. Any opinions would be greatly welcomed...thank y'all in advance. This lady loves to shoot! BP Tess

Howdy y'all! I'd like to see some pics of your guns after you've antiqued or browned the barrels and how you did it. I may want to try it on my remmies. I'll bet they look real perdy! There's so much knowlege here and y'all have been so helpful...this is an awesome forum! Post those pics! Teresa:D

    Alittle rust in the barrel

Just bought another 58...an urberti. Noticed alittle taint of rusty color in the barrel. New gun and all, what's the first thing I need to do to get this barrel clean. I ran a clean patch through it when I got it home. That's when I noticed it was just alittle discolored orange. Thanks in...

    Muzzleloader for a lady!

Hello there! I haven't posted in a while but am now looking for a nice beginning muzzleloader. I have a few revolvers already, ROA, 58 Remmies, but am looking for a smoke pole. What brand would have a shorter stock. I'm 5'6" but can handle the power. Want at least a 50 cal. Alot of you like the...

    What Powders?

Okay, I really enjoy all the testing and stats I find here on THR about the different powders. Although I would like to know if you would all feel the same if Blackpowder was more available and the haz mat fee didn't apply. Being fairly new to this sport I have only lit a few different powders...

    To leave seasoned or not!

I have read in other forums that some shooters of BP treat their guns as an iron skillet...never use soap on them or anything to remove the seasoning in the gun. Any of you feel this way? Is this authentic? Maybe just the barrels or what? Teresa

    Aging" a revolver?

I've been reading up on this subject, but being new to this, and have never tried it...I'm curious, when you remove the blueing does the gun instantly rust? Looks like it in the pics I saw. I would love to do this sometime but if it is rusted up...I'm afraid I couldnt get it out of ALL the nooks...

    "Wear" on the guns?

Opinions needed! I load my 58 on a stand and use the lever on the gun to seat my ball. Should I be removing my cylinder and use a loader like Duncun is wanting to build? I'm planning on buying an extra cylinder, just for convience. I know y'all have a bunch more guns than me, (right now:D )...

    Blackpowder and all the fixin's

First of all, I want to say that this is a great forum! I'm new to blackpowder and can't seem to get enough of all the information provided here. Well, to start out with I'm not sure how to get ahold of the REAL BP without buying a case and a $20 Haz Mat fee. I'm located in Indiana and I would...
