    Converting a 1911 to 10mm?

Fusion is undertaking building a 10mm CCO for me as of today! It is reasonably priced as well, for what I am getting.

Heh, thanks for resurrection of this thread, I at least managed to find a 2" blue python since I last saw it.

My ugly new 1991A1 Colt, (Blood damaged)

Well, just because the surface is not so deep it does not mean that it is not weakened. I would get a hexaflouride test or similar and check for micro cracking and weakness. I am glad it is not as bad as it looks, but be careful!

My ugly new 1991A1 Colt, (Blood damaged)

All the superstition aside, I understand that you bought it as a "California Gun", and 1911's can be hard to come by for a reasonable price. Or any gun for that matter. I would have a gunsmith take a good look at it, rather than firing it and seeing if it will blow up. A smith can replace parts...

Gun-owning family needs help keeping their kids

Well, if you won't take a bunch of peoples word on it, people who know the Byrne's, and people who know the whole story, then reading select excerpts from a blog are certainly not going to convince you. To suggest the children are not safe, well... Unpopular speech is just that. Chris is not...

Gun-owning family needs help keeping their kids

As I stated in my earlier post, I don't agree with some of Chris's ways of expressing himself. This does not make him a drunk or a redneck though. The comments on this thread about Team Infidel are some chickens coming home to roost for sure, but a number of folks who actually know Chris, vs...

Gun-owning family needs help keeping their kids

FWIW I am personally acquainted with the Byrne's, Chris for around five years, Mel for a little less. They are upstanding folks and I am personally donating $500 to them to help out. Kim duToit and a large number of folks from The Gun Thing forum also know him personally from get togethers, and...

Does anyone NOT use expensive hollowpoint ammo in their defensive handguns?

Not to put a too fine point on it, but cops are civilians too. We need to correct the mentality that cops are a special class of citizen. As long as the UCMJ is not applied, a civilian they will remain. Fellow citizens as it were. /threadjack

Does anyone NOT use expensive hollowpoint ammo in their defensive handguns?

When I was a kid a woman received seven .45 ACP's to the head from her rapist. She woke up, went to the hospital and later testified. All of them hit her skull and stopped or went around to the back of her head. You never know what will happen.

Does anyone NOT use expensive hollowpoint ammo in their defensive handguns?

I love my dogs too. This one was a vicious wolf hybrid that was feral and on my property in the country. I am thankful that it didn't bite my face off first. The whole story is off topic here, so I will refrain from too many details, but my first shot missed, I had a malf, and was lucky to get...

Does anyone NOT use expensive hollowpoint ammo in their defensive handguns?

I carry heavy guns for this reason, 10mm, .357, etc. I want to have penetration, and I know I am going to get it. Now, after I have it, I want that sucker to stop. In a .45 I think ball is actually ok, but I carry 200 gr Federal Expanding Jacketed. It feeds in every .45 I own and hits at the...

S&W 646 conversion to 10mm about to begin

It is done! I just got back my bored out 646 .40 S&W revolver. It now accepts 10mm cartridges. What little I could garner from the internets told me at least one person has done this, possibly two. I used the same gunsmith and I am going to follow the advice I was given about pressure. The 10mm...

What Is Wrong With These Pictures?

Squibs give me the willies, esp when doing rapid fire drills. That is why I like to use a powder that won't double charge, and that's why I try to weigh all the loaded stuff, to see if I missed any. It has happened to me, and I am glad I didn't fire the second round. Standing next to me at...

I'm going to try anyway! That's half the fun, the other half is shooting them of course!

    Colt python

Myself, I am trying to collect the whole set. I have two blue 4", a nickel 4", a 6" blue and a 8" blue (perhaps two, I just found one at a pawn shop). I also have an unusual 6" Clark Custom pin gun with a bomar barrel. The darn thing will hold a 2" group at 100 yards! Old man Clark worked on it...

S&W 646 conversion to 10mm about to begin

Well, I don't want to mess with hot .40 loads, as I don't really care for the round. I have other 10mm guns, and light loads, or winchester are fine for carry. It is a 10mm after all. This way I can swap out from carbine, to 610, to Delta Elite to 646. I talked to the smith today who did the...
