Just bought a Glock 20, and they only defensive rounds avaible were the Hornady 200 grain XTP at 1050 fps? Is this a good round for home/self defense?

    First Glock

Just bought my first Glock last Valentines Day; a Glock 20 in 10mm auto. I will use it to replace my old .357 S&W for camping and self defense. Being Gen3 and not having the SF frame I was warned that it is a big handgun. While I wear large gloves, my hands are not huge yet the gun feels great...

    Glock 29/30 Question

I have been thinking of buying a Glock 29 or 30. I noticed that almost all of them seem to be third gens, with finger groves. But some have the rail and some do not. Is this a custom feature or did Glock add these later in production on third gen 29s and 30s?

    Glock Generations

After some consideration I have decided to buy a Glock 9mm. However after a long time spent looking and feeling different Glock models, I find the older non finger groove models feel the best to me. Most in this form seem to be the 17, but I would love to find a smooth 19 or 26. I take it only...

    S&W Trigger Stop

My old K-frame has one of those old screw in style trigger stops. I remember reading some book back in the day that said to remove them in a defensive firearm. I was wondering if that was true, and if I do can I put it back in later to keep the gun original?

    Beretta 92FS

Considering buying a 92FS, but cannot decide if I want the standard blue model or the Inox model with wood grips. I notice the Inox now has black controls. Is there any advantage to the Inox model? I have seen some reviews say the finish rubs off.

    Kel Tec Advice

I am looking to get a small nightstand/purse gun for my grandmother. Was thinking Jetfire but like the .32 as she can handle that but not .38 SPL recoil. My LGS has a P32 for a good price and a 3AT for quite a bit more. Also considering Tomcat. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the...

    357 swc

I cam across a box of Rem. 357 158 grain SWC at my local Academy recently, they shoot well but was wondering if they are more effective than the JSP for a woods type load. I cannot find any info on this load anywhere, any advice would be appreciated.

    Speer GD 38/357 Short Barrel

I have carried the old FBI load for some time now but seems hard to find. The local stores always have Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel in both 38 and 357. I use a four inch M19 and was wondering how these two rounds perform from a four inch, rather than the two inch barrel.

    19/66 vs 586/686

I know its an old question but what yall think is the better revolver? I will say this my grandfather was policeman for 27 years, and said the Model 66 was superior to the 686, as far as police work went. I can say for myself the K-frame sure does clear leather faster than the L. That full lug...

    EAA Witness

Looking to buy a 10mm, considering a G20 or EAA Witness. Not very familiar with these, are they simply just CZ-75 knock offs or good, trustwrothy guns?

    Whats the deal with Judge

I don't mean to rant here but many friends of mine are capitaived by the Judge .45LC/.410 and it's clones bug. They seem to think five .410 rounds are the best SD/HD package ever. I honeslty told them some good hollow points in .45LC would be much better than any .410 load. Am I just old school...

    Heavy 357 Loads for K-frame

Need some good advice on factory laods for trail use in a .357 Model 19 that can dispatch wild boars, mountain lions and possibly small Southern Black Bears, but with out being too hard on the gun (as the 125s are). I usually carry the 110 grain Border Patrol load but that seems too light for...

    Beretta Tomcat

Have been considering the Beretta Tomcat as good, easy to use backup pistol. I have had great experiences with the .25 Jetfire and Bobcats, but have heard some bad things about Tomcat. Just wondering if this is as durable and reliable as the older Beretta models?

    Magnums at the range.

This just something that has been bugging me lately and maybe I am in the wrong but at a recent trip to my local indoor range, some people seem annoyed my 4 inch Model 19 .357 and the "noise" it makes. While they did not complain to me or the ranger owner, they kept talking about it among...

    Handgun for older lady

I don't post on here as much I would like to, but I am in need of advice. My 74 year old grandmother has decided she would like to have a handgun for home defense and even CCW (with training of course). Although she is older and small in stature, she still continues to teach in a rough area of...

    110gr 357

Anyone have any experience with these JHPs? I know they don't kick as much as the 125gr screamers, but are they good for SD? Also would they be as rough on K-frame as the full load 125s? They seem mild for magnums.

    Hogue Grips

Been trying to install Hogue nylon monogrip on a K-frame. Problem is they get about 3/4s of the way on and then they wont slilp up the frame and stiurrup anymore, and also do not slip back off. Houge's directions make it seem very easy but does anyone have some suggestions or tip? Thanks

    Uncle Mike's Grips

Does anyone remember about what year or so the Uncle Mikes rubber grips came out? And are they still made for K-frames? I belive them to be the best rubber stocks out there but have had no luck finding them.
