    642 Club Part Deux

I'm a new owner of a 642 as of yesterday. I went to the range today and put 50 rounds through it and consistently missed. This is my first revolver and I have no problems with tight groups with the autos. The stock grips doesn't seem to comfortable for shooting more than a few rounds at a...

    Selling?

What's the best way to go about selling one of my rifles? I just bought a brand new rock river AR-15 fully decked out but I also just bought a new car so I had to compromise with the wife with the credit card bill. Ebay, paper, etc. Get the most money for it. Hopefully I can get just what...

Canon USA demands employees reveal CHL or be terminated

The company doesn't have to state that they are firing you for having a CHL or carrying a gun. They can state they are firing you for being eight seconds late to work, poor performance, lunch break was too long, not a good team player, position no longer needed, etc, etc.

shot my new XD sub compact for the first time today

I have the XD-9 Sub Compact as well and have no problems. The slide is pretty tight and doesn't lock back all the time when the last round is fired but it's slowly getting better (I also reload my own ammo and powder charge on the low end of the scale).

    Tulsa Gun Show Report

Not many deals at all and the few I did find seemed very suspect. I imagine the exhibitors have the prices marked up so high is because people are willing to pay that price. The table prices have also went up as well.

Change of mind from .45 to 9mm

9mm all the way. Cheapest to shoot so you will get lots of practice. Enjoyable to shoot. Will stop an attacker just the same. In fact you might even stop an attacker more effectively with the more practice because of the cheaper ammo. More rounds per magazine. I know people love their...

whats the best 9mm auto ever made?

Glock is decent but by no means the best. Many people carry because it's cost effective being fairly cheap. Cost vs value. I would say the best widely available is the Sig 226. Then Beretta 92FS.

    Caught flatfooted

I think some will argue that having a gun pointed and pressed up against your chest is much easier to deal with than someone standing 10ft from you. A skilled/trained person in hand two hand combat could take the gun from the bad guy before he could pull the trigger. At 10ft there isn't much...

ATF shuts historic gunshop in Idaho.

So fine him or put him on probation. Pulling the livelihood away from him for some typos is indeed very petty. If he willfully did this then this is what he gets, however, if they were a handful of human errors made in five errors cut the man some slack.

    Prepared mentally for self defense

-- Still Learning -- "In his book, "No Second Place Winner," Bill Jordan wrote that people (he was referring primarily to law enforcement officers) will respond to these encounters exactly the way they have been trained." That is 100% accurate. That's why not only is practice important...

    Compact 9mm

Springfield XD X-9 sub-compact. Those itty-bitty 380's seem like cheap squirt guns to me and not something I want to put life on the line with. The smallest dependable 9mm I could find was the XD and the Glock 26.

Please be sure to tell folks about Rudy G's gun grabbing

I too don't understand Hannity's obsession with Rudy. All I can figure is they are good friends or there is something in it for him.

    Lasers For Police?

Lasers are good for practice as well. If you have problems flinching before firing the laser makes this very evident. I have one on my home defense pistol along with a tac-light. The presence in low light or dark situations is very intimidating.

    External safety for Glock?

-- oceansands -- What I mean by proper holstering is that it's much easier to holster a firearm OWB non-concealed like you would find on any police officer. These tiny IWB's I see everywhere just make me nervous about trying to squeeze something down my pants without another safety to...

    External safety for Glock?

I too would purchase a Glock if there was another form of safety. For concealed carry the trigger can catch on a thread and the light trigger could be pulled. LEO's can safely carry them because of proper holstering which can't be done as easily when trying to conceal it. I like the XD...

No Guns in Parking Lot - Unconstitutional?

Oklahoma made a law in 2005 that stated employers could not make a policy against employees storing firearms in their vehicles. This was appealed to our district federal court and the judge created an injunction stating the employers had this right until a ruling could be made. So in Oklahoma...

    My Xd Broke Today!

Keep us up to date on how SA handles customer service. I would like to own a glock but don't like the lack of safety, especially for concealed carry. The XD has an extra safety on the grip that would prevent accidental discharge if the trigger was somehow pulled. If I was able to carry the...

Jesse Jackson on DC gun ban ruling...

I wouldn't expect anything less from this guy. Liberals seem to forget we have a constitution and it's what primarily separates from many other countries. We have a judicial branch to balance out the power of the legislature to make sure the politicians don't take away our civil liberties...
