I bought an early 1970’s Model 670 30-06 a couple years back and the kids glommed onto it. I liked it enough that I bought an Extreme Weather 06’ last year for myself. The earlier one had a crappy cracked stock so I moved the B&C stock, bottom plate and five round magazine from the EW to it. I...
I'm looking for a high leverage single stage press to fill a variety of tough sizing roles, bullets, brass, etc. It must have the 50 BMG (1-1/2-12) threads available.
Considering the Redding Ultra Mag press.
Hornady 50 BMG
Lee Classic Cast w/ a chater pipe :D. no, really.
I want to replicate 9mm defensive loads in .38 Short Colt (basically a rimmed 9mm) for a moonclipped Ruger SP101 3". What is the ideal .38/357 caliber JHP at or under 140gr. at 9mm velocities?
The Speer SBGD's seemed the obvious choice, but I'm afraid they will expand too much and not...
Is there or was there ever a pistol that automatically put the slide forward when a new magazine is inserted?
I just own wheelguns so brass chuckers are a bit foreign to me :p but one would think it would make a much quicker reload if the magazine would somehow disengage the slide catch when...
Is a steel 3" S&W J frame ANY harder to carry than a 2 incher?
IWB only, no pocket. I'm thinking about a S&W M-36 or M-640 and really cannot see the longer tube being a problem even while sitting, but I don't have access to any of these guns to compare. :(
Inspired by Sylvan-Forge's excellent thread on working over a Smith & Wesson Model 10 I thought I would show the end results of my project. I finally recieved the grips and grip adapter in the mail to finish it off.
Let's be clear, this was never meant to be a purdy gun and was far from it...
Will AK and SKS sights interchange? I'm particularly interested in this Meprolight set for AK to go on my SKS.

For those of you who have the LNL progressive and the Classic single stage; Will the die bushings interchange from the progressive to the Classic without having to adjust the dies? In other words do the shell plates meet the dies at the same height so I could instantly switch one pre-adjusted...
I'm on the hunt for a lightweight S&W J frame, but I want the wider ditch. What year did they start doing that and is it model specific, or the whole J lineup?
I'm looking for load data for the Speer 135 grain short barrel JHP for 38 Spl +P and .357 magnum. AA#5 looks promising for both calibers. Low flash is a bonus. Has anybody played with these?
Has anybody tried Hornaday's new Critical Defense ammo? Uses their new FTX "anti clogging" hollow point. Are they pioneers or just another defense bullet?
Hi all,
I need to get the cylinder above my beltline and so, far this is the only holster I can find;

Are there any more options out there for high ride IWB for 2.5" S&W L Frame? Tks ahead.
Hi all,
I recently purchased a LNIB S&W 386 SC/S in 357 mag. It is an approximately 23 oz. gun and with the 2.5" barrel disappears nicely into the hip. Recoil isn't bad with 158 gr. XTP's under 5.1 of Unique, but is brutal with magnums which was expected.
I've read many conflicting opinions...
I have a Russian SKS and would like your thoughts on keeping zero on a 2X powered scope using Leapers SKS Tri-Rail mount. Link; http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SKS035-1.html Please read on;
This rail is also going to bear the weight of Command Arms BSRS Side Mount Bipod Link...
I like chopped hammers on my revolvers. Is there anybody making a quality thumbreak holster for a double action only revolver? Or can existing thumbreaks be adapted for DAO? Maybe put a spacer of some sort in the loop? :scrutiny:
Please help before my dremel does something It may regret.
So I bought a Model 386 and everything is great except the crappy trigger, but that can usually be fixed. So I get the stones out and pull the guts out and find this. It is a raised bump on the part that contacts the cylinder stop! It sure explains the craptastic trigger. This may make sense...
S&W 617 ejector rod got severly bent out of shape while out of it's frame. Completely my fault, It was traveling in an overpadded box. :banghead: Can the average kitchen table gunsmith replace it easy enough with a new one from Brownell's? Or is this experienced gunsmith territory?
I'm on the market for a case trimmer for .38 and .45 target guns. Is there anything to look for, stay away from, innovations, or just plain bargains? I'm partial to anything that can be motorized. Nickels.
I see lots of .45 vs .357 threads. Usually this is in the context of auto vs. revolver and low pressure vs high pressure, but this thread is revo only. The 45 is considered not as powerfull but generally more pleasant to shoot. I also read occasionally of somebody wanting to put .45 into...
