I keep my old 12ga. Ithica Model 37 handy...it has the deerslayer barrel and is just a tad over 18". These old pumps will fire as fast as you can pump it you hold the trigger...
Looked at the Saiga this weekend....it is definitely on my must have for home defense list.
I just replaced mine on my Pro CDPII. With no special tools it is almost a three handed job. I had probably 2000 rounds on mine.....so much for reading the manual.
I had a similar problem. The first time I loaded it the Federal Hydro Shock's did not feed well. After I took it to the range and ran a mag of them through it it seemed to loosen up. I reloaded four at a time and fired the rest of the box with no problem. When I cleaned and reloaded for carry...
My vote is the Kel-Tec P3AT. Coupled with a pocket holster I have carried it virtually with out detection I every situation. Of course I'd rather have my Kimber Pro CDP II but until I get my tuckable Milt Sparks holster I have to wait.
DWARREN123 If it is to be her gun then let her choose the round and platform!
Agreed.....let them shoot what they feel comfortable with. My daughter prefers the feel of my glock 19.....over the 38.
Congrats on the 19. I totally enjoy mine, when I get to shoot it. My daughter has adopted it when we go to the range... She enjoys it and has become an excellent shot with it...... I do carry it from time to time.....
I purchased and picked up my backup today, the Kel-Tec P3AT. My plan is to use Federal Hydro-shocks as my carrry ammo. Has anyone experienced any problems with that round in the P3AT. Can't wait to get to the range to do some shooting with it.
I chose kimber Pro CDP II as my primary carry weapon and because of the feel and accuracy I am comfortable with it as a home defense weapon, second only to my 1966 Ithaca 12 guage shotgun with the deerslayer barrel and 00 buck. The racking of a shotgun is a lot louder that the kimber...
Congratulations on your purchase....... although I am sure no one on THR thinks you got carried away by buying two guns!!!!! One can never have too many!!!!!!
I have the Kimber Pro CDP II..... and love it. It is my main carry..... 24/7
Maybe it is because I am getting older and the eyes need a little more, but I am having a difficult time seeing the rear sight notch on my SKS. Having upgraded to a T-6 Stock , the notch seems to "get lost" with the hand gaurd as I sight. I have though about putting some "white-out" on the rear...
What do the requirements of your ccp say. Carrying in accordance with those rules in my opinion is the logical answer. My permit says I can carry in any place I can legally be......except at facilities containing elected government officials meeting in an official capacity...... and a few other...
I have a hard time thinking I'd feel good about it. In fact since I got my concealed/carry, I feel a greater responsibility to give people a wider berth and try not to place my self in situations that might require the use of deadly force. But once in the situation I would not want to hesitate...
Cant speak for Russian or Yugo's but My Chinese has markings on the barrel in chinese.....
As to detachable mags....go for it I recommend the Tapco 20 round models. Simply remove the trigger assembly drop the trigger and the magazine will also drop. Then snap the trigger assembly in place...
