What do you think is the major "sleeper" cartridge out there?

I would have to say 45-70 for its versitility. 8mm Mauser for its reloadibility and power. 6.5X55 sweed, 6.5 Grendel, .260 rem, and .458 Socom for the cool factor. -Bill

Military Approves FN SCAR System for Full-Rate Production

Fan boys are now stroking their rifles quietly by their self's over the triumphant news.......... J/K :neener: But on a serious note, its too expensive for what it is in my opinion for the civilian market. It will defiantly impress a few at a range, but for 2,500 bucks I could buy my weight in...

Fantastic groups in new LTR .223

I'm a huge fan of Hornady 68gr BTHPs and H335. 23.5-24 gr or so, CCI Benchrest primers, check the Lyman 49th for several pages of good .223 loads. That was my Coyote load that was incredibly effective. I used Remington cases after figuring out that mil surp will make the bolt on my savage...

Military to require registration of personal firearms (again)?

Ft Campbell, Ky you have to register your firearms only if you live on base, or only if your going to hunt/shoot on base. For quarters personnel you have to register, for barracks personnel you have to store it in the arms room. If you lived off base, you were not required to register your...

    Prvi Partizan Ammunition

PPU is the poo. I love em, and for affordable .303 britt and 7.62X54R brass you can't beat it. Seller and Bellot brass is junk for reloading in .303. I had case head seps with mild loads on the first reloading in my rifle. I thought I had a head space issue, nope it was the brass. PPU...

Extremely odd rifle help. Caliber .30 A.O.A

Cases looked perfect when extracted. No splits, and no indication upon resizing cases in my dies that anything odd was happening. Just some brass shavings on the extractor. We were informed by the smith at the shop where it was given to my dad that it was safe to shoot and that the only...

Extremely odd rifle help. Caliber .30 A.O.A

Yep our info still hasn't changed much since then. Ive tried several sites in the past looking for an answer to this odd ball. I love shooting it though! To the MODs, I am sorry about posting in the wrong spot. Im still somewhat new here. Thank you for placing it in the right spot on this...

Extremely odd rifle help. Caliber .30 A.O.A

This is my most eccentric rifle, a Gold Wolf in caliber .30 A.O.A. It chambers and fires .30 carbine, but it shaves the brass at the rim a bit so its not quite right. As if the rim is too thick on a regular .30 carbine round.(Yes I have tried quite a few types and brands) It cocks on closing...

    What's The Fuss About?.....

I have owned a Rem 870 express since my father found out we had a girl for our first child, this was 9 years ago. The only failures I have ever had with it were the odd ammo failure or my own stupidity. On my last trip stateside picked up a Benelli Supernova Tactical and absolutely love it...

marlin 1894 css crossbolt safety question

I like to use a number 0 packing over the crossbolt saftey. Simple mod, and it hides the ugly saftey perfectly. You can get them from any hardware store for about 5 cents a piece. Most people just hate the way it looks from what I've seen. There maybe other reasons, but that's the...

    Let's see some Tactical Shotguns!!!

I love my Benelli Super Nova tactical. I want to add a light and Nordic extension tube, but for the most part its perfect just the way it is. Ready to go for the zombie invasion. 12 gauge 3.5". Fantastic shooter and for the price you can't beat em. -Bill

    45-70

For seating I just use a small wooden dowel to load patch and ball. Then put a light crimp on the shell to hold it together. I seat the ball all the way down on the charge. For cycling the lever just be slow and smooth. Otherwise load them one at a time. As to the accuracy its good enough...
