    Please help identifying this

Thanks folks. I'm sending her the link to this thread to see what she thinks. That APM Dermit sure looks like it just with more inlays.

Thank you. Does it look to you that there's something missing under the forearm? Check the last picture.

    Please help identifying this

A friend down in Florida (I'm in Indiana) sent me these pictures and asked for my help identifying and estimating what it was worth. I have asked her if there's any identification markings on it and apparently not. Any ideas folks?

So What Kind of Gun Can I Buy for Less Than $300.00?

You may want to look at the Sccy CPX. I had been hearing quite a bit about them. I get asked a lot about what would be a decent low $$ handgun and thought I'd check them out. They are made about 30 miles from me so I called to see about touring the plant. They were happy to do so and about 1/2...

    Rifle identification

Here's the email that was with the pics: Please see attached pictures. This is one of the guns I am trying to sell for my grandmother. I am not familiar with it and can’t make out the manufacturer to look it up. Help? What I can make out is that I’s a .338 Win Mag and I think it states...

I'm always asking for help here but you folks never fail me and I appreciate it. I received an email today from a friend looking for help identifying this rifle. I don't have a clue but I'm betting you guys will know. Thank you.

    Identify markings

Yea Jim, you're right. This is one from a fairly large batch of old firearms inherited by a friend, I haven't seen the firearms in person but I have some pictures. Unfortunately, most of them look like they are needing some help. I was hoping to get better pictures to gather info on them one by...

    Identify markings

Thanks guys. I didn't think I would get any replies with the minimal information I was able to provide. I'll email her your comments and that link.

    Identify markings

Mission impossible folks. Maybe. I received a text from a friend with these two pictures attached. She asked me if I recognized these markings. I asked her to get me more information and I'll do some research but nothing yet. I know it's a long shot with so little information but it couldn't...

    Magazine subscription

I'm just venting here so I apologize in advance. I have been a subscriber to many firearm magazines and over the past couple years have scaled back. Aside from The American Rifleman and NAHC (life member on both) I have reduced subscriptions to just one, Shooting Times. I have been a...

    Help with Remington Stock

Thanks so much. 710 it is. With your help I was able to find a 710 stock on line and it's exactly the same. It's a little sad how I got this as well as a new 700 ADL stock, 12 fishing poles and 4 reels. The folks across the street got a divorce and had to sell their house. Investors bought it...

    Help with Remington Stock

I recently aquired 2 Remington rifle stocks. I've identified one of them but this one is eluding me. The recoil pad has Remington on it but there are no other markings. If you need any other pictures or measurements please let me know.

    H&R Top Break

My head was clearly in a dark and lonely place when I commented on the age. I put the wrong two digits in from of it. Here's something I found on the internet: the H&R Hammerless models were manufactured between 1899 and 1942. first model 1899-1904 black powder only and NO caliber...

    H&R Top Break

Thanks but unfortunately all I have to go by is pretty much what you see. The markings are gone. I figured it had to be quite a bit older than that. It's in really rough shape. The only advice I could give him was NOT to shoot it. I don't know if he was hoping it had some collectors value or...

    H&R Top Break

A friend showed me this revolver this morning with hopes of finding out more about it. It's a Harrington & Richardson in .32 S&W. Any markings about what model are completely gone. Anybody have any info?

    1911 recoil springs

That was what I was thinking but I'm not as knowledgeable as you are. I'm pretty good at sorting out some of the the internet mumbo jumbo and advertising hype but they sure do make it difficult at times. Thanks.

    1911 recoil springs

1911Tuner, a question here and not an opinion. I've read and heard that too light of a spring, even though it returns the slide to battery fine, can be tougher on the pistol with hot loads due to the slide 'slamming' back too hard. Is there any merit to this?
