I'm just trying to prove to my cousin that a .300 Wby Mag has more recoil than a .308 Winchester. (Same gun, weight etc..) He also says there isn't a gun more powerful than a .308 Win. So people please tell him which has more recoil.

I have a cousin that is looking into a rifle, he can handle a good bit of recoil, but he was looking into a .338 Win for deer, because he knows NOTHING about rifles. I told him to look into a 30-06 or 7mm Rem mag. What are you suggestions? He's a Mossberg freak so it has to be anything they offer.

I know there are many states that don't allow rifle hunting, but do allow Slug guns. If I go out and get a rifled barrel and a scope like most people do in these states, It's just like hunting with a rifle, so whats the point in having no rifle hunting in these states?
