Argentine Mauser 1891 - bolt comparison: regular vs carbine

Quick question regarding my Model 1891 Argentine Mauser. It's a pre-1896 model that was sporterized somewhere along the line and in OK condition aesthetically (I cleaned it up, re-blued, re-oiled, but there's some pitting, etc). I need to replace the bolt and was wondering if the regular rifle...

    Scope mount Modelo 1912

I have a Modelo 1912 in 7mm mauser that is quite accurate but the irons are set at a minimum of 200 yards (mind you I live in Appalachia never gonna see 200 yards) is there any sort of accurate scope mount or way I can mount one to sight for my typical 100yrd?

    Mauser 1895 7x57 H414 Load?

Hi all, I picked up a Chilean 1895 Mauser 7mm rifle at the gun show the other week. Beautiful rifle! I was just looking around, not necessarily planning on buying anything and . . . you know how it is. It feels like a solid relic in the hands. 7x57 is difficult to find, so I bought it with...

    Chilean Mauser 1895

Hey all, I picked up a Chilean 1895 Mauser in 7x57 today at the gun show - serial # L68XX. Hope to use it as a deer rifle, along with enjoying its role as an antique firearm. Anyone have additional info on this rifle? Its historical role, commonality - I'm here to learn. Thanks, Leif

    Researching "Red 9" Unit Markings

I recently got my hands on a beautiful Red 9. All matching parts (including the grips), the bore was excellent, and the bluing was also excellent. The holster is obviously new, and I had to use my steel picks to clean some crud off the insides. Otherwise it is pretty much perfect. I am trying...

    Mauser bolt take down ring

Are the K98's the only mauser that have the bolt take down ring in the stock? I found a gun listed just as a mauser, not much else for description. It does have the ring though and if I could at least narrow it down to a few that have that... I think I'd be able to identify it.

Looking for milsurp rifle with smooth (bolt, or not) action

I know it's kind of a generic topic. I have a Mosin, which is in good shape overall, shoots very well, but has a below average action, and I say that with the understanding that Mosin actions in general are pretty rough. It's hard to open (cock), heck it's even a little hard to open when...

Please help!!! Need a rear sling mount!

So I'm redoing a 1912 Chilean Mauser for a buddy but the rear sling loop is gone. All that is left is the base with the eyelet. I tried a Mexican one but it's not the right base. I need it to fit the stock exactly and work! Any ideas would be great!:banghead:

Welding Mauser 98 scope hole plug screws

Hi there, I recently bought a Mauser 98 system based hunting rifle with front ring screw holes terribly out of alignment.. Seems like the most common fix for this is to screw in plug screws with loctite and dress them down. However, I wanted to ask if it would be possible to TIG weld...

    Mauser HSc (.380)

I picked up a Mauser HSc imported by Interarms back in the late 60's/early 70's for a few hundred at the Wanenmacher show at the end of last year, I was wondering if anyone else on here owns one? Took it to the range a couple times and I've been having serious feeding issues with it. I've...

    Is a Yugo 24/52c just a rearsenaled czech vz24/g24t?

I found a "Yugo mauser 24/52c" for sale for $300 online. I was wondering if these are just the same as a yugo 24/47 with intermediate action, or if a 24/52c is a captured cazech vz24/g24t with the large ring 98 action since the Germans issued something like 350,000 of them to troops. So is it a...

Anyone have information on 1895 Chilean Mauser Carbines?

My neighbor has a modelo 1895 Chilean Mauser that was produced in Ludwig Loewe, Germany in 1895. I've seen dozens of youtube videos of the long rifle version.Hers however is the short rifle variant: not the super short cavalry one but the intermediate carbine one. It has a bent down bolt too...

    Chinese Hanyang 88 8x57mm

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXpjSsyr6Jk As far as I know this is the only shooting footage of the Hanyang 88. Definitely obscure and it takes some work to shoot it safely but still worth it. The last few inches of rifling at the muzzle is totally gone but I did not counterbore or modify...

    Help identifying Mauser

Hey everyone. I need help identifying this Mauser. It has absolutely no markings other than what appears to be a faint letter R on the top of the receiver. All the other markings appear to have been ground off. None of the serial numbers match. I'm guessing it was sporterized later in life. The...

Which action for ultralight bolt action Grendel: CZ or Mini Mauser?

Most 6.5 Grendel bolt guns have used either a Mini Mauser or CZ 527 Carbine as the base. I'd like to have an ultralight repeater in 6.5 Grendel (mostly for deer). J&G has Zastava Mini Mausers in 7.62x39 ($400) and CZ has the 527 Carbine in 7.62x39 ($660). Both will create a serviceable rifle...

    Siamese mauser 30/378

Hi, First time posting. Just received a siamese mauser action and was wondering if anyone would know what the maximum oal round it could handle. I have in mind 30/378 since I'm going to have to have a barrel made. I'm not interested in 45/70. I want a modern type round. I'm also...
