SIGARMS® was recently awarded a contract for over 1,000 M11 pistols by the United State Army. The M11, which is the SIG SAUER® P228, is on duty with several military units and personnel. Each of these pistols underwent an exhaustive test firing process before delivery to the Army. We even had to shoot, completely disassemble, mix up parts, reassemble and shoot again a number of pistols just to satisfy the Army's demand for interchangeability. Was this supposed to be a hard test? This is SIGARMS after all and we build our guns to get through hell and back. They ain't built to quit.

what?

they've discontinued the p228? what the hell for?

it's a very good handgun, and my favorite in my collection. ok, admittedly i only have two handguns, but still...

Don't know what the Army uses the M11 for, but the Navy issues 'em to aircrew (and possibly a few investigators in security departments).
