I've literally searched online for hours looking for an answer but can't find anything about a similar problem.
I'm having an issue with my 10/22 where the trigger will not reset after firing. What happens is I can fire a round and it will cycle and load the next round into the chamber from the magazine just fine, but the trigger is not 'reset' and I can't fire again (It is loose without any resistance as if it had been dry fired). At this point I can pull the bolt about halfway back (without cycling a new round) and release the bolt handle, and the trigger will again have resistance/be reset and will fire/cycle a new round again, and the problem is repeated.
The rifle has had a few thousand rounds through it and has been pretty reliable but this problem has been going on for a few months now without going away; I basically just have a bolt action rifle now. I have taken it apart and cleaned it. Anyone know what the problem is?
