After posting the SR1911 10MM Unboxing video the emails started to come in asking about chamber support.

Being curious myself I decided to compare 4 10MM 1911's,
Colt Delta Elite
Ruger SR1911
Para Elite Hunter
Kimber Camp Guard 10

Here in this video

I do not have the best of camera gear but hope this helps.

Nice video! Interesting to see them all lined up...but my personal experience with a couple Colt Delta's never showed the slightest bulging from unsupported chambers. Section some brass and the thick web goes well up into the chamber and enough so that I'm pretty confident that something else will give before that does. Or...if you ARE having problems with the brass expanding into the unsupported area....you're WAY too hot!:)

Interesting.
What about actually SHOOTING the guns? Do they feed the usual ammo reliably?
More case support comes at the cost of a narrower and steeper feed ramp.
My Colt 9mm is limited in bullet selection by a small ramp, even after moderate "throating." It has less case wall exposure than your Colt 10mm which seems backwards to me.

Oh, by the way; I seldom watch youtube reviews. If you just must video, quit apologizing for the camera and get on with the show.

Yes Sir, Jim Watson Sir LOL. I don't do this to make money at it, I do this to try and provide accurate unbiased information to the shooting world. Which is my way of giving back after leaving Uncle Sams Misguided Children. It helps keep my mind occupied and away from not being able to put on my uniform everyday as I did for most of my life.

Maybe I will get better at this video stuff. I should have mentioned they all will be safe with factory loads even hot reloads within SAAMI spec. I have fired Corbon and Underwood 10MM ammo out of the Colt Delta Elite and it was safe as well as there was no bulged brass. The only bad thing I had to chase the underwood brass into the other county. WOW was it throwing brass really far.

I checked my DE 10mm a few weeks ago and satisfied myself the chamber has PLENTY of support.

BTW, Buffalo Bore's super hot 220 gr 10mm load was used in their Delta Elite 10mm for testing!
