10MM Ammo

I've wanted a 10MM for years. So far, the only one I could afford would be a Tanfoglio / EAA Witness, Match type preferably. So that has me wondering. Where do you get your 10MM Ammo?

I bought some doubletap for my Glock 20SF, but I haven't shot it yet. Maybe next month. Buffalobore would be good stuff too, I have some in .357mag.

Factory loads in 10mm are expensive, and most retailers don't carry much of a selection.

I would reload, but was wondering about available commercial loadings.
I'm hoping the next two years will be a turnaround and comeback for this cartridge.

Really though man, handloading is the way to go with this cartridge. A TON of bullet weights to choose from. It's a pleasure to load, shoot and handle the 10MM.

For SD/HD i buy from DoubleTap also.
Target ammo can be tricky since i dont reload.But my local dealers all carry decent amounts of ammo,but not range ammo.Usually its $27-$30/50 if i can get it,if not its the $17.99/20 WIN Silvertips.
Since i own a G20c i bought a .40 conversion barrel from LoneWolf and shoot that alot.But its not as fun as the full 10mm loads.
Once this ammo issue is resolved i hope to hit up www.georgia-arms.com also.

EDIT- Wow they are serously backordered,12 weeks is new news to me.At least they have some good job security,as they cant be getting rich NOT gouging like they could.Ill surely remember that when i need to place ANY ammo order.

Be careful with the EAA Witness....the Match could be all right because I think still has the old squared top slide..the standard Witness cannot take the beating of full spec 10 mm Auto ammo (cracked slides)

The EAA "Customer Service" (if we can call it that..) specifically warn you against using Double Tap and CorBon ammo (the only full house 10 mm ammo on the market) with any of their 10 mm pistols, regardless of model...

I can confirm the DoubleTap ammo can add a little giddy-up in your trigger finger.
A Glock20 is a great 10mm handgun with a not so heavy price,but i still think $600 is a bit steep.But it handles the recoil like a pro,i can snap off rounds alot faster with it than on my 1911.But to be a bit more fair mine is the "C" compensated model.

From what I've read on different forums, Georgia-arms ammo and Doubletap ammo are the best ways to go...It may take a while to get to you though...It has already been a month and I still haven't been charged for my order from Georgia-Arms...lol

Another here for Double Tap. The guy knows his stuff, and provides a lot of ammo choices for different shooting types, IE SD, HD, and Target practice.

His prices for ammo are competitive. Especially the sample packs.

I've been ordering Double Tap ammo from MidwayUsa. I also shoot the EAA Witness. SO FAR I have not had any trouble with the slide, but I am now forewarned per this thread.

try looking for the S&W 1000 series. I bought a 1006 a while ago and it has been a tank so far. These guns set the bar for pistols chambered in 10mm. I have no doubts it will last 1000's of rounds.

the only down side is its capactiy and grip size. Its a 9+1 capacity, yet the grip size feel larger than my Witness match that holds 15. But it has factory night sights that are 15 years old that still work and an adjustable rear sight. Very accurate gun.

I buy SD loads from Double tap and reload my target loads.

I think it's cheaper to order directly from DoubleTap instead of ordering from Midway. I know the S&H is cheaper for sure. I've bought .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P ammo from DoubleTap and it's very good ammo. Like said above, the prices are fair too.

Buffalo Bore charges $29.21/20 rounds 200gr FMJ, DoubleTap charges $38.95/50 rounds 200gr FMJ. That's almost half the price for DoubleTap and both are good ammo so you give up nothing and save a lot of cash.
