Why not just shoot 30carbine? The carbine and it's round are perfectly matched, and the 30carbine round is a versatile performer...FMJ when you want holes through things, SP for self defense.

I know you want a M1 Carbine but Mech Tech makes a carbine conversion unit in 10 mm for both the Glock 20 and 1911 platforms. You just slide your pistol lower into it and you're good to go.

What old ruger 357 carbine?

There is a bolt action 357, but it's relatively new. I'm going to guess the gun referred to is the Ruger No 1 California Highway Patrol commemorative. Ruger made a couple of thousand of them years ago. Something of a collector's item now.

To answer your question, I've never heard of such a conversion, and would expect one to troublesome and expensive.

They once converted M1 carbines to .357, which seems TO ME to be a good match. Magazine capacity goes from 30 to 18, but each round is very authoritative. I wonder if a Marlin Camp Carbine could be altered to work in 10mm.

There was someone making a semi-production M1 carbine in 10mm at one point. I remember reading about them and that the increased recoil was hard on standard Carbine stocks.

No. Unlike the M1 carbine which uses a locked bolt, the Marlin uses a blowback action that would be very difficult to make work with the 10mm.

I was thinking of someone in the 1990's making M-1 Carbine conversions in .45 Win Mag. I'll keep thinking on it.

Heck I wish Beretta would make a CX4 in 357sig.
Checking Ballistics by the inch website it's a hot little round out of a 16" barrel
