Until someone comes out with a 38Super carbine, stick with 9x19.
First post so thanks to all that make this place happen.
I have a glock 40 mos and a 19. I would like to add a pistol caliber carbine. Idk if i should go 9mm or 10mm.
For simply range use I don't fire my magnums much. Mostly I'm shooting my 9mm PCC or my double deuces. Cheaper ammo and makes holes in paper equally well.Looking to get a jrc or if i found a used kriss vector for a good deal that may be a option or pray and wait for a pc carbine in 10mm.
The main interest in 10mm is the range and power i have had with the mos with a red dot. And weather you agree if its not safe or whatever its a fact. glock 10mms can shoot 40 s&w all day long with no issues. Ive probably but as much 40 through my 10mm as 10mm. So that gives me another caliber option.
But 9mm is lighter and cheaper. Thanks to all
All the PCs have at least a top rail and fore-end light rail. Ruger has also come out with a free-floated shrouded barrel version that looks more SMG-like. We have about 600 rds through and haven't cleaned it or had a FTF from the Glock mags. On a side note....the stock rifle will bump fire so handily that 33 rd stick mags will just disappear with little practice. TONS of Fun for plinking, defense or pest control. In fairness, I have fed it only plain fmj ammo so far.Yeah pc carbine is looking like its gonna be the pick. But one dark horse came up. I found ak-47 style 9mm shooting glock mags at Atlantic firearms but i dont think it’s a actual ak piston driven etc.
i saw the take down pc this last weekend. I carry a 10/22 everywhere i go at the moment. And thats the gun i grew up with so i like the pc feel. Gonna find one with rails I think.
40 S&W in a carbine is a fantastic close quarters weapon. I have one for home defense paired with a 40 cal pistol. They share mags and ammo. More energy than a 9mm .
^I concur with Snowdog with the 10MM suggestion, but i would go with what ever PCC and pistol combo that benefits ballistic wise in a longer carbine barrel, whether that is 357 mag levergun and 357 mag revolver or a 10MM semi-auto carbine and 10MM semi-auto pistol. The 10mm is a beast and would easily produce significantly more energy than a 9mm from a carbine (or anything other platform).
However, the 9mm is more than sufficient for most PCC roles. If I were wanting a camp carbine in bear country, I wouldn't hesitate opting a PCC in 10mm between the two.
If I were wanting something for around the home, I would (and have) choose something in 9mm.
My CX4 Storm loaded with Remington 124gr +P bonded Golden Sabers and topped with a red dot makes a handy dandy home defense carbine. This is my go-to if a bump-in-the-night leads to my GSD going berserk.
If I ever found myself needing more than 30 rounds of 9mm +P JHP from a carbine in this particular role, it's probably due to a rampaging demogorgon (and a flamethrower would be the only useful weapon upgrade).
Unless you have a REALLY good reason for needing that extra punch from the 10mm [ bear / dangerous game ] ,I see the 9mm as a better choice.First post so thanks to all that make this place happen.

Perhaps I missed it later in the thread. I don't see anywhere where you mention what you want to do with these weapons. Hard to give intelligent advice without that info.First post so thanks to all that make this place happen.
