This is where the Brady Bunch get their "Another child killed by a gun..." except the details suggest a different headline.

10th Grader Shot and Killed

Police in Niagara Falls say a 10th grader was shot and killed after he tried to rob a pizza delivery man Wednesday night.

Detectives say the pizza driver admited he shot and killed 16-year-old Anthony Maurice Sheared, after he and another teen pulled a BB gun on him while he was making a delivery on Pierce Avenue.

Police say they will not charge the delivery man. They say he was acting in self-defense. "The driver was told to go to 1319 Pierce and was told to go to the back door and when he got out he was jumped by two men and they tackled him to the ground," says Niagara Falls Police Lieutenant Ernie Palmer.

The other teen, 16-year-old Aldeaz M. Lewis, was located by police and charged with second degree robbery.

He would be charged with murder in Texas and some other states, but maybe not New York. It depends if they have that law, which I don't know if they do. It isn't a federal law.

In the 10th grade I was 6'2" and 180 pounds. I imagine that in the dark, I'd have scared the poop out of someone who was afraid they might be robbed.

His school status is irrelevant to the fact that he was shot in an attempted robbery.

If you're old enough to commit a violent crime you're old enough to take the consequences like a man, whatever they may be.

Here's to some chlorine in his family's gene pool. Anyone wanna chip in to send his family a caring "you people are stupid, you raised him wrong, it's your fault he's dead" note? ;)

Blackburn,

Here's to some chlorine in his family's gene pool. Anyone wanna chip in to send his family a caring "you people are stupid, you raised him wrong, it's your fault he's dead" note?

This is uncalled for and out of line. We have no idea how he was raised, or by who. And gloating over the death of any one is not good.

Cool.

Things I like:
1. Pizza man will not be charged
2. Pizza man was not named in the article
3. Criminal will not repeat this crime
4. The Police just say matter-of-factly that he was acting in self-defense. No preaching about taking the law into your own hands, etc.

Just shows that Niagra and NYC might as well be two different planets.

It's unsensitive and mean, I know. I guess I'm irritated at how the families always pretend that their dead criminal children were little angels.

I live near Niagara Falls and the latest outrage (I'm not outraged) is that the Niagara Falls High School is allowing an informal memorial to celebrate this thug's life. Same school system that won't allow the Ten Commandments...Go figure.

I'm guessing the "BB gun" was one of those simulated real guns, and that the pizza driver thought it was probably real. The article just calls it a BB gun, thereby skipping over this whole issue, and giving anti's ammo to say "why did he have to shoot him? It was only a BB gun" :banghead:

As to doing anything at school to honor this twit :barf:

I put myself through college delivering pizza. Best job I ever had. Drive around in someone elses car listening to the radio, all the pizza you can eat for free, and everyone is happy to see you. I wouldn't dare do that job today, even if I was carrying.

Even normal .17 BB guns can look real, not just airsofts. So I wouldn't be suprised if they managed to get some cheapo one.
My BB guns looks fairy real as a lever gun.

I have a 14 year old son. He's a good kid and doesn't "go with the flow" as far as peer pressure is concerned...at least not yet.

But if my own son was killed in this fashion in the same scenario, I honestly don't think I would even consider holding the shooter morally, ethically, or legally responsible or out of line. And I would be sure to let him know that.

The shame should be mine and my family's, not his.

A sad case indeed, but one that should be shared with kids early enough to deter them from these costly pranks.

Thou shalt not steal....using only a BB gun

As far as the memorial goes....where do I send the pizza?

Gloating over the death of a common volient criminal is good. That is a one LESS criminal preying on the citizens.

I have a Crossman CO2 BB gun that not only looks exactly like a real handgun, but says Walther PPK on the side.

I'm just waiting for "another case of a poor unsuspecting boy playing an innocent game with a plastic gun, cut down in the prime of his life by a trigger happy child killer".

I have a Crossman CO2 BB gun that not only looks exactly like a real handgun, but says Walther PPK on the side.

get that one at walmart?
I know they sell them at the one here.

You don't know the dumb kid was a viloent criminal, one act such as this dosen't necessarily make him violent (stupid for sure though) and yes getting away with this act could very well have lead to worse, but still shouldn't gloat over the loss of life.
You are correct however in saying it is one less Criminal preying on citizens

As for the "informal" memorial at the school, it's not really for him, it's for the people who knew him to help them get over the loss of someone (good or bad) they knew.

Good things in this instance:
1. Pizza man will not be charged
2. Pizza man was not named in the article
3. Criminal will not repeat this crime
4. The Police just say matter-of-factly that he was acting in self-defense
Agreed!

Yep, randall is right. IIRC, the slide even moves when you shoot it. Been thinking about one. Even take a look at some $15 Airsoft guns. Get rid of that orange tip, and you have a lifelike weapon.

What does the Ten Commandments have to do with them having a memorial to this retard. While celebrating the life of a criminal is stupid they're right about the Ten Commandments.

They don't belong on any public place, they belong in private such as a Church, your home or property or a private business.

Now i'm not one of those OMG RELIGIOUS SYMBOL get rid of it freaks, if it's been there for decades or whatever just leave it as is (As it's historic I guess, no point in changing it), but I don't want any new public displays of that manner. You have your freedom to practice religion, I have my freedom from it.

End of derail.

Props to the pizza man for getting out of this unscathed, chalk up one for the armed citizen. I'm not going to gloat over the kid's death though, like some have. Poor pizza.

I'm currently putting myself through college delivering pizza. Can't think of any other job that will get me the hours around school hours to pay my rent. Even with the gas prices, it still generally works out pretty good for this part of the world, not that I make any tips of course...

Yep, randall is right. IIRC, the slide even moves when you shoot it. Been thinking about one. Even take a look at some $15 Airsoft guns. Get rid of that orange tip, and you have a lifelike weapon.

Moot point, since 80% of the time I'm working in the dark. You wouldn't be able to tell an 870 from a red ryder. And it seems to me the dude was not being very Situationally aware if he allowed himself to be jumped as soon as he got out, then again, that's just what the article said....

The job can be really dangerous. Lets drive around with a lit up Rob Me sign on our car to the worst places in town, in the dark, defenseless except for a flashlight and some pepper spray. It can be exciting, especially when you do meet-at-the-highways and they request change for $100...
Seriously considering carrying illegally....

Just to intercede briefly.

Much as we like to see criminals ''out of circulation'' (myself included) - some comments here are below THR standard IMO. Even folks who try hard at good parenting do sometimes still finish up with a ''kid from hell''. Our societal atmosphere has much to do with it, plus as ever, maybe we are not privvy to all facts.
