Our 4-H club just got it's first semi auto shotgun. It is a new Remington 11-87 20ga. youth model. We have used in the past a Remington 1100 20ga youth model from IHEA for short periods, but never was responsable for up keep, just cleaning.

So far I have some questions; more may be coming.

First, Is the fire cutting on top of the magazine tube where the gas bleeds off normal? Does this stop after a few (100-200rds) rounds like on a revolver top strap forward of the cylinder?

Second, how long does the O-ring last in the 20ga 11-87? From new to just over 200 rounds it looks like it has flatened out some all ready, normal?

I can tell you will want to keep a couple o-rings around. They dont use a ton just seems to be when you need it and the store is out of stock. Only a couple dollars a piece. One thing to note is DO NOT get any solvents or lube on the o-ring. This is true for any o-ring as it will soak it up and break down the rubber causing failure.
