I'm a wood guy, but the guys who have them love them, and they seem to be selling well. It is the proven 1100 design with an adjustable carbon fiber stock. A lot of people have added the stock set to a regular 1100 because they couldn't find one for sale. It will certainly do all the things you have mentioned quite well.
Hi Lefty
I bought one last summer. I shoot trap with an 870 Comp, and it being a single shot, it was useless as a 'clays gun. I found a lightly used 1100Comp for sale and bought it. It points very much like my 870Comp. It has the composite stock which Im not wild about, butit seems to reduce recoil somewhat. The gun doesn't kick, it is a joy to shoot. My 'clays scores went up the very first outing. The first club I visited after buying it also had a trap range, So naturally I shot two rounds of trap and broke 49x50. I really like it and will probably shoot more trap with it, especially doubles. My shooting pards like it too.
On a side note... when I bought it, it had a tendency to hang a shell coming out of the mag tube on the extended release button. Just a few strokes with a file relieved the edge. It runs perfectly now. I'm almost glad it had that flaw or I probably wouldn't have had a chance to buy it!
The only drawback is that you will scatter your empties. However, it seems lately that I have been buying Rio's and Estates about as cheaply as I can reload anyway.
If you want an upgraded clay pigeon killer, that wont beat up your shoulder or ypur billfold....this is it.
