12GA VS body armor

Hard cast bullets in the 45-70 would penetrate and have all the knock down power of a slug. When put into a handy configuration like the Copilot it would seem to be a handy rifle to tote in the truck. But carbines are out of fashion in these days of spray and pray.

Brenneke slugs aren't hollow U shaped things, they're solid. That's why they are more penetrative. I've been told this by numerous sources. I have yet to verify it though. I've also been told that a Brenneke slug will reliably go clean through most cars (excepting engine block), etc.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I recall reading that the North Hollywood bank robbers were hit with 12 gauge slugs and did not go down. Anyone know about this?
Autopsies found their shoulders filled with buckshot. It was never said AFAIK that they were hit with slugs.
I wonder sometimes if the situation would have been better contained if the cops were armed with rifle sighted shotguns and slugs. A headshot at 50 yards would have been possible.

I cannot imagine ANYONE getting up after getting hit in the chest with a 12 gauge slug, body armor or not. If he does within the first hour of getting hit, he must be a T800.
