If you are the actual buyer from the supplier, and your gunshop is merely the FFL to handle the transfer and paperwork, a fair fee is 15-25 bucks. Some shops that do volume business with certain customers will drop that down to ten bucks per gun. Maybe even less for a bulk shipment if they like having you in their shop.

What you need to do is be polite and understanding, then they SHOULD be polite and understanding back. If not, then maybe you should end your relationship with them.

I view a gunshop as a lover. If they are being selfish and take you for granted, then find another. But you need to think about them too. Maybe they are thinking you are being selfish and are taking them for granted.

Another vote for Ben's Loan in Renton - of course things may have changed but they've always treated folks fairly including a policy of putting their own guarantee on new and used firearms.

As noted some shops including some east side shops insist on charging the full markup as though the gun came from their stock to do a transfer. Folks don't have to pay that but it's within the shops rights to ask it.

Do a search on Wades Eastside Guns in Bellevue, WA on this forum and/or other fourms. Lot's of feedback to be found.

I use DJ's in Bothell. They charge $30 on used guns and 10% on new guns for transfers. There may be others around that are cheaper though.

"Washington residents must pay Washington State and Local Sales Tax on all merchandise brought into WA under Dave's Guns Business License. This includes items paid for by the individual prior to shipping that were not already taxed. The present Sales/Use Tax Rate is 8%."
Is this something special to Washington? I've never paid sales tax on any firearms I've purchased out of state and had transferred to me either here in Colorado or when I lived in Kansas (in fact, I never paid sales tax on the transfer fee either).

Try checking out Google for local gun shows. Go to one and talk to every dealer and ask for thier rates or prices on that same gun.
I know how you feel though. Lucky you didn't do anything yet. I have a Fuji camera that stopped working so like a dummy I took it to a camera repair place. A friend of mine that works in a camera store told me not to go there but just didn't listen. They had to send the camera to Fuji to be fixed and it took 2 months. The camera was fixed on a recall but I was charge $100 for postage, handling, packing and packing materials. I probably paid thier rent. It pays to ask for help but just got to listen.
