I've been scoping 1300s at on-line actions for a few weeks.

Seems that a good condition used one can be had for $200 to $250.

Several listed in the $300 range that don't seem to get bids.

While up at camp over the holiday, I swung by the local Wally World and made a quick pass by the gun desk to see if they had anything different at this store, than at the ones near my home.

And they did....

a 1300 with a matt black finish and ugly looking wood furniture (some tints of green in the very pronounced face grain....Aspen if I had to guess) The receiver had "speed pump" engraved on the right side. Price $255.

I figured that since it's been a couple months now since they shut down the Connecticut plant that made the 1300s, this must have been haunting the display case for a some time. Also, I've been told at four Walmarts that every store in NH is slated to lose their gun desk, so I figure this has been marked down. When I asked the clerk (who actually seemed to know something about firearms....what a concept) he responded that they were still getting 1300s and that he thought they were making them overseas now.

Anybody have any information on imported 1300's?

I've not seen the "speed pump" engraving before.....is this new?

I'm stumped....because I was about to pull the trigger on a NIB 1300, gloss finnish (Winchester # is 15619) online for $270 (+ ship and FFL).

Advice is appreciated.

edited to add:

the guy with the NIB 1300, online says the gun is bright, but looks dull in the photo because it still has factory coat of cosmoline. Do they really ship from the factory with cosmoline?

Same gun as the FN shotguns.

They may be coming here from FN, but the FN itself is about the same price, and the same gun.

The wallyworld guns are old stock not imports. Mr. Wally probably bought a thousand or more at a time. I picked one up last Sunday; probably the last of the "new" 1300's you will see. Mine was priced at $243 and was a smokin' deal as far as I am concerned. The last of a breed. I am glad I could get one.

Yep, thats internal stock from Walmarts distribution channel. I've been told by an employee of a WM Distribution Center here in AR that there are still well over 2000 Winchester 70 Synth/Blued and various Win 1300's in their Searcy warehouse.

With that many already sitting at the warehouse, they're going to be forced to go extremely low on the price at the store before the distribution channel will let them be sent back to the warehouse for redistribution to another store.

SpeedPump has been a Winchester patent for quite a number of years and an included feature on the 1300. Various 1300 models have had it inscribed on them.
