Does anyone make a standard metal AK magazine with a 10 or 15 round capacity? Is it possible to modify a regular 30rd metal AK magazine to be a 15 rounder? How hard would that be?

Are you after capacity or capacity + appearance?

You can do what folks have been doing for decades - stick a dowel in it to block it up.

Since his listed location is in NJ, I assume he wants it for legal compliance.

The magazine must be PERMANENTLY modified to accept no more than 15 rounds, in order to comply with NJ law. This means a simple dowel or block at the bottom of the magazine is not enough. The block must be welded in place or otherwise permanently installed.

You can purchase ready-made 15 round Saiga 7.62x39 magazines here.

Yeah, I have some of the plastic (err...Im sorry POLYMER, much more tactical sounding) ones and really Id like to have the appearance of an AK with metal mags. So yeah, I guess Id be looking for someone here to chop down some metal mags and sell me them I suppose.

there are 10 round ak mags out there, I have seen them, but just never though to have a use for them. since it is a 10 round mag, and not evil, it should be okay, if you were to get a Weiger type, and screw a sheet metal screw, down into the lower 'lip' thingy, that clicks into the top of the magwell, then put in some red loctite around it. that will act as your bullet guide.

there is an old timer, that sells all kinds of parts, at / around Houston gushows, that has the
10 round ak mags. Someone up there is bound to have some...
