What ever happened to the (new) rimfire cartridges based on the larger rimfire case used for and in "Ram Set" guns? I have never seen the ammo for sale anywhere, and I have not seen any guns chambered for the round(s). Did it die already? I had hoped to get a carbine barrel for my Contender re-chambered in the .22 super mag for hunting coyotes on state land here in CT. Only rimfire rifles can be used on state land in CT.

I saw a box or two of the .22 Super Mag at a Big 5 (of all places) when everything else was empty post riot/pandemic. Since then, nada.

I think they are toast.

Stay safe.

Are we certain 22 WSM (Winchester Super Mag) even exist? I have only ever heard of 17 WSM and have both seen ammo and guns for it in the past. I Google 22 Super mag (and 22 WSM) and nothing but WMR shows up. I google 17 Suoer Mag and that shows up just fine.

If 22 WSM exists, I want one and ammo needs to be made for it today….

I read about the .22 super mag in the "American Hunter" magazine over a year ago. Since then, not a peep about it.

It must’ve been the .17 Super Mag I saw. I remember seeing “ Super Mag” on the box, and all the other stuff on the shelves was gone. I made the assumption that it was .22. My oops.

Stay safe.

My buddy in Colorado has a Franklin Armory F17, .17 WSM and uses it for prairie dogs. It is very effective and you don't have to stress about trying to save the brass. It has no recoil and is great for times when you have multiple targets.

I would love to see and .22 WSM paired with a nice bolt action rifle. I think that would make a very fun walking/stalking desert rifle for jackrabbits and coyotes. Something along the lines of Savage B-mag, around 5 lbs.
