I use the 20 gr XTP's as well, but mostly because they were more accurate in my rifle. Where do you usually place 17 HMR shots on a Coyote? Are heart lung shots enough, or do you need to go for CNS?

I think a 25 or 27 cal rimfire would be pretty neat, but they would probably have to develop all new bullets for something like that, I wouldn't think there would be many in those calibers that are suitable for rimfire use.

You are correct, no 223's on public land for coyote shooting any time of the year EXCEPT modern gun deer season.

It is a real pain because I would have been more interested in buying a 223 if I could use it on public land. Coyote season here is year round. 223's are also legal here for modern gun deer hunting.

For me, it's about what the rifle they put it in is like. I won't buy a CZ with a azzbackwards safety, and i won't buy any rifle that's big and heavy like a CF rifle.

If they build something that's slim and trim and has things where they should be, i'll pay $17.50/50 for the ammo and i won't whine about the price!
