The Firearms Specialties revolvers were all handmade by a guy named R.G. Wilson, originally starting in Fulton, Michigan, and then moving to Owosso, Michigan. He started creating his revolvers around 1964 and first produced an 1860 Army, of which he supposedly only produced 10 revolvers. One has surfaced and is SN 7. The wedge enters from the right, the rammer screw position is reversed, the cylinder is not engraved, and it has a two-piece grip. As to the rest of them, no one has come forward with another one. And I know who the owner of this nearly one-of-a-kind revolver is. I have more photos if you all would like.

The one Mr. Kibbey is referring to is a very well worn unkept Firearms Specialties .45-70 revolver.

These are era references to that revolver:

In the 1990's a co-worker purchased a Century Arms .45-70 revolver very similar to the revolver in question. I had the "pleasure" to shoot one round with it. If one thinks the Colt Walker is a heavy revolver at 4 lbs. 9 oz., this revolver weighs over 6 lbs.! Not a very pleasant experience, but a memorable one.

Regards,

Jim
