Here's a few shots of a new Slim Jim rig I just finished. Pictured with my 5½" 1860. Holster is a right hand crossdraw for a 5½" 1851/1860/1861. The medium brown came out a lot darker than "medium" but it's a really nice, rich color. Belt is 2½" and has some neck wrinkles towards the buckle that I think give it a nice character. It has a big brass buckle that I aged to match the 1/4" metal spots. Held in place with #12 copper rivets. Everything is border stamped and there are a few antique pewter conchos scattered about. Member "kbbailey" is soon to be the proud new owner of this rig and I hope he likes it. He granted me some artistic license and I really like how the double groove and brass spots turned out. I love the oval conchos and thought that three spaced along the belt's length was just right. The star concho that kbbailey picked out for the holster is perfect. I think it turned out really nice and would be proud to wear it myself if I didn't need another few inches of belt. ;)

Craig that is gorgeous as always did you do the belt as well sorry i didn't read the post all the way can i ask as to what that would costc?

I keep meaning to do a log to keep track of how long it takes to do a project. I start one but never finish it. I probably have about 8hrs in a holster like that. I spend a lot of time doing the spots on a holster because I have to make sure the prongs are recessed deeply enough to prevent scratching the gun. Then there's always drying time for dyes and finishes. Plus I'm not a professional and only do this part time. I can draw up a pattern, cut out the holster, dress the edges, groove and stamp it in a couple hours but I'm still really slow on belts.

Awesome, CraigC.
Just got my first look at the new rig. Even better than I was hoping for. My '51 Marshall is gonna look great in it.
This has been an interesting project. I think the only real decision I made was on the style of conchos, the rest was all you. It turned out fabulous, and quick too! Your experience and talent are displayed in your work. Can't wait to get it home.

Ain't it a shame?

I found a beautifull, carved and silver highlighted single walk and draw rig and grabbed it! The only problem is it's a 34" and I am a 44" so all I can do is put my Single Six in it and look at it!
I'd hashed around trying to figure out how to gracefully extend the belt but nothing I can come up with will look right.
I wish I could make pictures stick because it;s a nice classic double thick and lined Mexican rig made by some fine craftsman down South! Black with silver accents.
I haven't seen leatherwork like this since the early 70's! Just the thickness of the leather is a thing to behold!
Makes for a real wannabe weight loss program eh?
Well I guess you can just appreciate the asthetics...

Craig, not only is the workmanship outstanding but the design is wonderful. I like that it's got lots of bling without being gaudy.

I've never been a big one for the elaborate floral patterns in leatherwork. So your blend of studding and tooling strikes me as very classy and refined.

I'm just about to embark on my own double rig for cap and ball guns to use in CAS. I hope you don't mind if I take some of my design inspiration from your work.
