Took some time to take pics of my latest work. My first serious project was the knife sheath, then the Slim Jim crossdraw for the 3rd Model Dragoon that I posted before. I've since done a few more projects and here are some of them. I've also done some stuff not pictured, including a fringed elk skin book pouch, a belt pouch for loose .22's and a blackpowder hunting pouch. Both turning out rather well I think.

Left to right, the newest holster, this time for a Remington 1858 and border stamped. The Dragoon in the center and another for the Colt 1860 with metal spots and an antique pewter concho. To the right is the knife sheath, done back in the fall. The belt is the latest project (still unfinished), which has stamping, spots and conchos. All are far from perfect but I do think each finished work is better than the last.

I've since gotten several patterns from Will Ghormley and can't wait to get started on them. Right now I'm working on a modified Threepersons for my first customer.

Thanks gents!

The metal "spots" represent what would've traditionally been tacks. The spots are hollow and have two legs that get folded into the center. Easier to set than tacks and less likely to pull out.

I really like the conchos from Buffalo Bros. They're cast pewter and have that antique look I'm after. They can be ordered with pushnuts, rivets or a Chicago screw. I'm using rivets.

To better understand what my inspiration is, look at Chuck Burrows' work at Wild Rose Trading Co.

I have exactly one pic of the back side. This is the Dragoon holster and the loop is a little low but it works. The 1860 holster is like this but higher but the Remington holster is a straight hang. Right now I'm working on a round toe Slim Jim for the Ruger Bearcat.

If anyone is interested in a Slim Jim, send me a PM.

If you don't mind Craig, could you post pics of the threepersons rig when it's finished?

Nearly finished it tonight. Once the dye dries, I'll be able to finish it in a couple hours. Probably tomorrow. It's turning out quite nice and I already have a few improvements to make on the next one.

That is some great work. I love the finish on the leather. I have a couple of nice leather holsters, but they are just plain black...
