Ran across a good deal on a Euroarms 1858 Remington cap-and-ball revolver. Did a bit of welding and reshaping on the grip-frame to make a grip similar to a Colt Bisley, made some Curly Maple grips and modified the hammer-spur to lower it. Then I fitted a home-made cartridge-conversion chambered for .450 Adams and cut a loading port in the recoil shield.

The result hangs from the hand nicely, and is quite pleasant to shoot.

Very nice.

I see your old EuroArms Remmie still has the very short front sight that they were putting on them back in the 1970s when I bought mine.

Before I bought a conversion cylinder for mine I was concerned because with the short front sight it always shot high.

I had a gunsmith cut a new dovetail and mount a taller Uberti front sight on it before investing in the conversion cylinder.

Have always been glad I did. It does not shoot high anymore.

The smith had to cut a new dovetail because the original dovetail was not big enough for the Uberti front sight.

With your smithing skills I'm sure you could cut a new dovetail yourself if you wanted to.

The gun shot to point of aim with .44 Colt, so I didn't see a need to change the sight. It will probably shoot the same with .450 Adams. We'll just have to see...

Nice conversion! Also like the new grip shape and of course the new grips to go with it!
