Who makes cimmarons 1860 colt army repo? Is it uberti or pietta?
Buy reading they both have their faults,which is better?

When might the thread on how to tune up a uberti be ready? part one and two for the pietta was excellant with great pictures. only problem is my work computer will not open th epfd file. home computer opens it but my printer is not good with pictures.

Cimarrons are Uberti. They will be embossed "ADDRESS CIMARRON FREDRICKSBURG TEXAS" on the top of the barrel, Colt-style, but otherwise indistinguishable from other Ubertis.

biggest difference on Cimarrons is the quality and finish. Cimarron basicly takes the gun fine tunes it refinishes it puts their address on the top. Next to a Uberti they will look very close very very close. Difference will be the Cimarron will look better finished all the rough edges taken away and a really good fitting gun. I would not worry too much about how to tune up the 1860. if needed you can pretty much copy the 1851 the parts are very very similar.
