I recently bought an old 32 spcl. Mod.1894. Its a take-down model, made in 1906 or 07. Its in really nice shape, but apparently a gunsmith made some modifacations to it that pretty much ruined any collectors value. Theres only one flaw that bothers me. there is a vary slight wobble were the 2 ends join together. 0 wobble top - bottom, but only side - side. Is this a serious problem, or is it common in take-down models.

There is a built-in adjustment to tighten the take-down joint.

Under the forearm wood and magazine tube are three small screws coming in from the front of the receiver extension.

When tightened just a frog hair, they will push dimples in the face of the receiver extension that tightens it against the receiver when the barrel assembly is put back on the receiver.

After taking the mag tube and forearm off, tighten each screw just a very small amount and keep trying it until it is "just right".
You probably only need to adjust the two on the sides to take out the side to side play.

If over-tightened?
They will punch clear through the thin receiver extension holes and you will have a loose gun and no adjustment at all.

Thanks guys, I took the forearm off and found the screws, I tried turning the 2 side screws in but they appeared to be all the way in, I then backed them out a little to make sure they weren't seized up, retightened them and that seemed to do it. Again Thanks for the help.:)
