I saw for sale in my little local paper a model 19-3. I called and went to look at it. almost fainted. there was no blue left, I mean none, the cylinder could barely open and I didn't even touch the trigger. the guy wanted $300, I passed. Is this gun salvageable? Could it be sent back to the factory and made like new again?

A trip back to the factory would run around $200. Then the total cost would be $500. The revolver would be worth $200.

Find one in the condition you desire at an appropriate price.

Call back

Call back in 2 weeks and if he still has it offer him 150 for it!

It might be worth a bit more, depending on condition, but to get $500, it'd really have to be something special.

In the condition described, I'd avoid it. There are tons of Model 19s in excellent shape out there in the $300 range.
