Hey all,
Just seeing if any here had a favorite load? Been using 4756 200gr data, accurate enough just seems like it could do better. Plan on a hog hunt this year. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,

4756 is a bit fast for the 190's. I use 2400 grn data for 200's and 180's and split the difference. You will find 2400 works a lot better with the heavies.

Here is what I can't understand. The .357 Magnum was developed shooting 158gr to 160gr bullets and it was king of the mountain. Why is it that these days many who want to use the .357 Magnum want to load it with bullets more suited for a 35 Remington?

Plenty of 130gr bullets have taken game in a .270 and some even use a 60gr bullet in the .223 for deer. Why not load a 160gr hard cast SWC and have at it in the .357 Magnum?

+ 100!

Doug Wesson killed a Kodiak bear with a soft 158 SWC in 1935,

And everything else on earth had been killed with them in the years since.

Why reinvent the wheel with a less round wheel now?

Why shoot heavies in the mag and re-invent the wheel?

Because it is a hobby and hobbyist like to experiment and have fun. If all I was doing was duplicating factory ammo and ballistics cheaper by reloading, I would miss out on a lot of the fun of reloading. I like to try new things and experiment with different powders and combinations.

Sure if I wanted to toss 180's faster, I would just pull out my 357 Maximum. Much better gun for the heavies, If I wanted to go lighter I would pull out the 357 Sig and load it with 88 grn screamers because I don't like light bullets in revolvers.

Again, it is all about having fun and learning with my hobby.
