I recently bought a Kimber .45. Also, recieved a Day Arms .22lr conversion kit w/o any magazines.
I have never seen one of these conversions installed and need instructions. Also need a source for magazines.
I searched for Day Arms on net and couldn't find any info.

I immagine these things are rather universal in application...

Thanks

Should be exactly the same as removing and replacing the Kimber slide except for the guide rod... Does the slide stop have a hex screw on it? If not, you should probably be able to just follow the instructions in the Kimber manual or find a general 1911 manual on the internet.

As always, be careful with those springs when taking it apart for the first time. If you're not careful, things can... go places. :p

Take the slide off the Kimber as if you were going to clean it...and be careful about the springs, as Cratz2 mentioned...the conversion unit probably has the barrel already in it, so slide that on your frame and use the Kimber slide stop.

As for mags, I'd suggest that you look on Ebay. Also, you might want to call Daly and see if Ciener mags will function with that unit. Ciener mags are relatively easy to find (about $30-35 apiece).
