OK, this is the BIG 100 for the 1911, and Mr. Browning. More versions of the 1911 are appearing at your friendly neighborhood gun store every day, particularly the "new" old 1911A models.

Now let's consider pricing. For those of us who may not have a 1911 in their collection at the moment, what is the best time to buy? I am of the opinion that I should wait until at least summer or later, considering that by then the stores will be so glutted with various makes, models, and stock that the prices will come down considerably.

What do you think, particularly you in the merchandising end of the gun business?

I just bought one in January and from what it looks like the prices are going up if they are in stock. I am sure prices will come back down, but I have mine and am enjoying shooting it now. I wouldn't want to have to wait a year to get one.
