So, on this particular trip to a pawnshop I was under adult supervision but, while she was looking over their jewelry collection, I accidentally ended up at the gun counter ;)

Anyway, there under glass was a very, very nice S&W Pro Series 1911 in 9mm. It fit me like a glove. Appears to be in mint condition, may be unfired. Includes 4 Wilson Combat mags and the original tupperware box. Target sight model.

I'm well known at this store so I can negotiate without committing. They agreed to sell me the gun out the door for $1099. Keep in mind that's their asking price and normally there'd be another 9.5% sales tax on top of that. So that's like paying $922 plus tax.

One of the counter guys who's a well known 1911 expert mentioned he went over the gun and confirmed it has the beefed up extractor.

Deal or no deal THR?

I don't know if mine has the "beefed up" extractor, but it has been flawless. I don't remember what I paid for it, and don't know current prices, but that doesn't sound overly bad.

I had one for a while not long after they first came out. Really nice guns, very accurate and smoking fast shooters.

Well, I must have been math-challenged when I penned the original post, the paid price was $1000 plus tax. I traded a couple of 380 handguns we weren't using and bought this one yesterday. It just feels right, can't wait to shoot it!

Here's a couple pics of the new addition. The action on this is quite amazing for a production line gun, here's hoping it shoots as nice as it feels :)
